Stardew Valley 1.7 will let players marry Clint and Sandy, creator Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) confirmed in the update’s official Steam announcement. The update is in development, but no release date has been announced.
Who are the new marriage candidates in Stardew Valley 1.7?
The two newly announced candidates are Clint and Sandy. ConcernedApe named them in the official Stardew Valley Steam announcement; Nintendo Life also reported the reveal on February 26, 2026.

When will Stardew Valley 1.7 be released?
There is no announced release date. ConcernedApe described 1.7 as “in development” and explicitly said there was no release date in the official Steam post. Nintendo Life likewise reported the date as unknown when it covered the reveal. No release window or platform rollout order was established by those announcements, so any specific timing would be speculation.

What else has been confirmed for update 1.7?
ConcernedApe said the aim is to add depth to areas of the game that feel lacking without adding too many systems. He summed up the direction as: “More depth, but not necessarily more complexity.” The full feature list remains undisclosed.
Children are one possible area of attention, but the precise change is not confirmed. In Nintendo Life’s February 3, 2026 interview coverage, Barone said he was responding to a popular request to make children “a little more interesting.” He did not describe what the finished update will do, so that remark should be read as a development focus—not a specific promised feature.
Before the reveal, Barone also said he was working on two additional marriage candidates and would reveal them on the anniversary day. The later official announcement supplied the names: Clint and Sandy.
