Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone has confirmed that Clint and Sandy will become marriage candidates in update 1.7. The update is in development, but it has no announced release date. When is Stardew Valley 1.7 coming out?
There is no release date. Barone said update 1.7 is in development and wrote, “However, there is no release date, it’s just ‘in development’.” The announcement also does not give a platform rollout schedule, so claims about which platform will receive it first are speculation unless confirmed in a later developer update.

What has ConcernedApe said about the update’s direction?
Barone described 1.7 as a “new major content update” and said he wants to build up parts of the game that feel underdeveloped without piling on systems. In his words: “My goal is to add more depth to various areas of the game that are somewhat lacking, without ‘bloating’ the game with too many systems. More depth, but not necessarily more complexity.”
That is a broad design goal, not a feature list. Beyond confirming Clint and Sandy as marriage candidates, the post does not identify which areas will get attention or what other content is planned.

What did Barone say on Stardew Valley’s 10th anniversary?
The anniversary post marked ten years since Stardew Valley became publicly available on February 26, 2016. Barone wrote that he had been working on the game for “almost 15 years” and reported that it had sold 50 million copies worldwide. Both figures are from his February 26, 2026 statement; the sales number is his dated report, not an independently audited or continuously updated count.
