When is Stardew Valley 1.7 coming out?
There is no confirmed release date in the available announcements. Barone announced version 1.7 at the Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons concert in Seattle in August 2025. His later anniversary post, published February 26, 2026, said a new update was in progress but did not say when it would launch. Engadget’s August 2025 report and the official Stardew Valley site are the cited sources for these announcements.

What will the update add?
No feature list or content teaser has been confirmed in the cited announcements. Barone wrote in his February 26, 2026 anniversary post: “And there’s a new update in the works which I think will make the game even better, and give everyone who hasn’t played in a while a reason to come back again.” That signals his intention to bring players back, not specific additions or changes.
Stardew Valley combines farming, relationships, crafting, exploration, fishing, and cooperative play, but there is no confirmed indication of which parts of the game 1.7 will address. The new update should not be assumed to include features from version 1.6, such as the Meadowlands Farm, a three-day festival, crops, or additional NPC interactions.

Which platforms will get the update, and when?
The cited announcements do not give a platform list or platform-by-platform schedule. Version 1.6 is useful context, not a forecast: the official blog records its PC release on March 19, 2024, followed by console and mobile on November 4, 2024. Later console notes for version 1.6.15.1 covered fixes and synchronization with PC content. That history shows that rollout timing can differ between platforms, but it does not establish the order or timing for 1.7. The official blog is the place to check for release announcements and platform notes.

In the August 2025 report, Barone was quoted as saying that 1.7 “will not hinder Haunted Chocolatier development.” Engadget attributed the wording to an X reply from Barone. It is a statement about the update’s effect on that game’s development, not a release estimate for either title.
