You can equip only two rings at a time in Stardew Valley, so the best combo depends on what you want from those slots: broad utility, more eligible monster loot, protection from slimes, explosive combat effects, or extra Luck. For a strong all-purpose starting point, pair the Iridium Band with the Burglar’s Ring; switch the second ring when your activity calls for a specific defense or effect.
How to choose a ring combo
Think of each ring slot as a tradeoff. Some rings bundle several effects, while others answer a narrower need. The combinations below are recommendations based on the rings’ documented effects, not a tested or universal ranking.

- Bundled utility: glow, item attraction, and attack damage in one slot.
- Loot: extra random rolls for eligible monster drops.
- Protection: immunity to slime damage and the Slimed buff.
- Combat effects: explosions that can clear nearby objects as well as enemies.
- Luck: a +1 Luck bonus, weighed against what the other ring slot could provide.
Recommended ring combos by activity
General mining and combat: Iridium Band + Burglar’s Ring
The Iridium Band combines the Glow Ring, Magnet Ring, and Ruby Ring effects: it provides glow, attracts items, and increases attack damage by 10%. The Burglar’s Ring increases average eligible monster loot, making this a practical mix of everyday utility and drops. Its effect is not a guarantee of extra loot from every monster or every reward type.
Slime-heavy areas: Iridium Band + Slime Charmer Ring
The Slime Charmer Ring prevents damage from slimes and the Slimed buff, while the Iridium Band keeps its bundled utility. The protection has a specific exception: it does not block projectiles from Stacked Slimes.

Combat and clearing nearby objects: Iridium Band + Napalm Ring
When a monster is slain, the Napalm Ring triggers an explosion. The blast does not hurt the player and may break nearby rocks or fallen mummies, but it can also destroy forageables before you collect them. It is non-destructive on the farm and inside the Slime Hutch.
Luck-focused play: Lucky Ring + a utility or defensive ring
The Lucky Ring adds +1 Luck. Pair it with whichever second ring addresses your immediate need—such as the Iridium Band for bundled utility or the Slime Charmer Ring for slime protection. The extra Luck is a situational choice, not a universal upgrade over the effects you give up by choosing it.
What each recommended ring contributes
| Ring | Documented effect | How it shapes a combo |
|---|---|---|
| Iridium Band | Combines Glow Ring, Magnet Ring, and Ruby Ring effects: glow, item attraction, and +10% attack damage. | Bundles three useful effects into one slot. |
| Burglar’s Ring | Makes two random rolls instead of one for each item in an eligible monster’s drop list. Some second-roll exceptions apply; two Burglar’s Rings do not stack with each other. Its effect stacks with the Monster Compendium power. | Useful when seeking more eligible monster drops. |
| Slime Charmer Ring | Prevents slime damage and the Slimed buff, but not Stacked Slime projectiles. | Trades a general effect for protection from a particular threat. |
| Napalm Ring | Slain monsters explode. The blast does not damage the player and can destroy nearby rocks, fallen mummies, and forageables; it is non-destructive on the farm and in the Slime Hutch. | Can help clear objects, but may destroy forageables before collection. |
| Lucky Ring | Adds +1 Luck. | Choose it when the Luck bonus matters more to you than another ring’s specialized effect. |
Important mechanics and acquisition
Two slots, with some effects that can stack
You can equip two rings at once. Some effects stack, and some rings combine the effects of other rings. The Iridium Band’s effects stack with another Iridium Band, Glow Ring, Glowstone Ring, Magnet Ring, or Ruby Ring. The Burglar’s Ring does not stack with a second Burglar’s Ring.
Iridium Band
Its crafting recipe unlocks at Combat Level 9 and requires 5 Iridium Bars, 50 Solar Essences, and 50 Void Essences. It can also appear in Fishing Treasure Chests and certain special monster drops.
