To move Krobus into your farmhouse in Stardew Valley, reach 10 hearts with him, upgrade your farmhouse to at least Level 2, then give him a Void Ghost Pendant. If you are unmarried, he moves in three days after accepting it.
What you need before inviting Krobus
- 10 hearts with Krobus: You need to reach this friendship level before offering the roommate invitation.
- A Level 2 farmhouse or higher: Krobus will not accept the invitation if your farmhouse has not been upgraded enough.
- A Void Ghost Pendant: This is Krobus’s move-in item. He becomes your roommate, not your spouse; marriage candidates use a Mermaid’s Pendant instead.
- Unmarried status: If you are married, Krobus will not move in as your roommate.
How to befriend Krobus and invite him to live with you

Build friendship to 10 hearts
Talk to Krobus and give him gifts he likes or loves to raise friendship. Check his heart progress in the Social tab. Gift preferences affect how quickly friendship grows, so consult Krobus’s current gift list in the Stardew Valley Wiki if you want to choose specific gifts.

Upgrade your farmhouse to Level 2
Make sure the farmhouse has reached at least Level 2 before presenting the pendant. This is a separate requirement from reaching 10 hearts.

Get and give the Void Ghost Pendant
After Krobus reaches 10 hearts, the Desert Trader sells a Void Ghost Pendant for 200 Void Essence. A monster in Skull Cavern can also drop one. Give the pendant to Krobus to invite him to move in. It is an in-game item; you do not need a real-world pendant.

Wait three days for the move-in
If you are unmarried when Krobus accepts, he moves into the farmhouse three days later and adds a room of his own.
What changes when Krobus is your roommate?
Krobus follows a roommate routine rather than a spouse’s. He does not sleep: at 10:00 p.m. he stands in the center of his room and remains available to interact with. He leaves the farmhouse only on rainy days, when he stands on the front porch. In multiplayer, cabin arrangements can affect this behavior. After moving in, your friendship with Krobus can continue beyond the 10-heart invitation threshold.

Krobus is a platonic roommate option, not a marriage candidate. His invitation requires a Void Ghost Pendant; marriage candidates use a Mermaid’s Pendant. Both routes require a farmhouse upgraded to at least Level 2. Choose based on whether you want Krobus as a roommate or a marriage relationship with a candidate.
