How to solve the Mermaid Boat shell puzzle

Visit the Night Market on Winter 15, 16, or 17, and enter the Mermaid Boat on the right side of the festival.

Watch the Mermaid Show until it ends. It lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes in game.

Count the five clam shells from left to right and click shells 1, 5, 4, 2, 3, in that order.

Completing the sequence awards a Pearl. The Mermaid Boat is open from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., while the Night Market itself runs until 2 a.m. Time passes during the festival, so allow enough time for the show before the boat closes. Do you need Secret Note #15?
No. Secret Note #15 reveals the shell order, but finding it is optional. The show’s tune also points to the sequence; you can simply enter the code after the performance without having the note. Stardew Valley Wiki: Secret Notes
How many Pearls can the Mermaid Boat give?
The boat awards one Pearl per player per save. You can watch the show again, but replaying it does not give you another Mermaid Boat Pearl. Stardew Valley Wiki: Night Market

No. Stardew Valley has a separate Mermaid puzzle on Ginger Island. It appears on rainy days and involves tuning Flute Blocks to match groups of stones; solving it rewards five Golden Walnuts. That puzzle does not use the Night Market shell sequence.
