Aranae is listed by third-party Starfield databases as a level 15 system with five planets and six moons. Those databases also list resources ranging from Aluminum and Helium-3 to Tantalum, Copper, and Lead. Bethesda does not publish an Aranae-specific resource table in its support guidance, so use the in-game Starmap and planet scanner to verify any destination before planning a survey or outpost.
Where is the Aranae system in Starfield?
Aranae is a star system in Starfield. Starfield Db lists its recommended system level as 15; Starfield Unity independently shows the same system layout. These are third-party references, not Bethesda-published system statistics. For current in-game information, open the Starmap and select Aranae: Bethesda says the system view shows its planets and moons, recommended level, and faction information (Bethesda Support: Starmap).

What resources are listed on Aranae?
Starfield Db reports the following inorganic resources for Aranae’s bodies. Treat these as database entries, not a guarantee that a deposit is present at every landing site or extractable by every method. Bethesda’s planet view lets you scan a body for resources; check the target in-game before committing an outpost or crafting plan (Bethesda Support: Starmap).
| Body | Resources listed by Starfield Db |
|---|---|
| Aranae I | Aluminum, Beryllium, Helium-3 |
| Aranae II | Aluminum, Helium-3 |
| Aranae II-a | Aluminum, Helium-3 |
| Aranae II-b | Aluminum, Helium-3 |
| Aranae III | Iron, Helium-3 |
| Aranae IV | No deposits listed; identified as a gas giant |
| Aranae IV-a | Iron, Helium-3, Tantalum |
| Aranae IV-b | Iron, Helium-3, Alkanes |
| Aranae IV-c | Copper, Water |
| Aranae IV-d | Copper, Water |
| Aranae V | Water, Lead |
All entries in the table come from the third-party Starfield Db Aranae listing. The listing does not establish comparative deposit yield or outpost efficiency between bodies.

How do you survey Aranae?
A full planet survey tracks inorganic resources, each flora and fauna species on worlds with life, and landmarks that reveal planetary traits. Some targets need multiple scans: the scanner’s percentage shows progress, and the planet menu shows survey completion (Bethesda Support: Surveying planets).
- Open the Starmap and select a body. Use the planet view to review available environmental information and scan for resources.
- Land and use the surface scanner. Scan resource deposits, life forms, and trait-related landmarks. Repeat scans where needed until the survey progress is complete.
- Gather what you need. Bethesda says solid resource nodes can be mined with a cutter, resources can also be collected directly from sources, and an outpost can extract larger quantities (Bethesda Support: Gathering resources).
- Verify a site before building around it. The database’s planet-level resource list does not prove that every landing area has an accessible deposit, or that the resource uses the same collection method.
Skills that can help with surveying
The Surveying skill improves hand-scanner range and zoom by rank. Astrophysics extends remote scanning reach and can increase the chance of discovering planetary traits at higher ranks. Bethesda’s skill descriptions present these as survey aids, not as prerequisites for visiting Aranae (Bethesda Support: Science skills).

- TELL YOUR STORY - In Starfield the most important story is the one you tell with your character. Start your journey by customizing your appearance and deciding your Background and Traits. Will you be an experienced explorer, a charming diplomat, a stealthy cyber runner, or something else entirely? The choice is yours. Decide who you will be and what you will become.
- EXPLORE OUTER SPACE - Venture through the stars and explore more than 1000 planets. Navigate bustling cities, explore dangerous bases, and traverse wild landscapes. Meet and recruit a memorable cast of characters, join in the adventures of various factions, and embark on quests across the Settled Systems. A new story or experience is always waiting to be discovered.
- CAPTAIN THE SHIP OF YOUR DREAMS - Pilot and command the ship of your dreams. Personalize the look of your ship, modify critical systems including weapons and shields, and assign crew members to provide unique bonuses. In deep space you will engage in high-stakes dogfights, encounter random missions, dock at star stations, and even board and commandeer enemy ships to add to your collection.
- DISCOVER, COLLECT, BUILD - Explore planets and discover the fauna, flora, and resources needed to craft everything from medicine and food to equipment and weapons. Build outposts and hire a crew to passively extract materials and establish cargo links to transfer resources between them. Invest these raw materials into research projects to unlock unique crafting recipes.
- LOCK AND LOAD - Space can be a dangerous place. A refined combat system gives you the tools to deal with any situation. Whether you prefer long-range rifles, laser weapons, or demolitions, each weapon type can be modified to complement your playstyle. Zero G environments add a chaotic spectacle to combat, while boost packs give players freedom to maneuver like never before.
What should you check before landing?
Bethesda says planetary information includes gravity, atmosphere, and temperature. Environmental exposure can reduce maximum health; suit protection lasts for a limited time, with an alert as it runs down. A safe location such as a ship or outpost allows recovery from exposure (Bethesda Support: Environmental hazards).
- Review the destination’s displayed conditions before beginning a long surface survey.
- Watch your suit protection status while exploring, and return to a safe location if protection is depleted.
- Do not assume a particular Aranae body has a specific hazard: the cited Bethesda guidance is general and gives no verified Aranae-specific hazard values.
Choosing an Aranae body for a resource goal
Start with the resource you need, then check its listing against the candidate body’s live planet view and landing conditions. If you are deciding where to build an outpost, also confirm that the in-game site offers the deposit and extraction method you want. The available body listings do not establish which Aranae world has the highest yield or is most efficient for an outpost, so there is no evidence-based universal “best” body.
