Starfield launched on PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026. That was the date reported in a leak weeks earlier, then confirmed by PlayStation and Bethesda. So the old “coming soon” headline is out of date: the game is already available on PS5.
What date did the leak report?
On March 3, 2026, Windows Central reported that Dealabs leaker billbil-kun had identified April 7, 2026, as Starfield’s PS5 release date. The report followed similar coverage by Polish outlet PPE.pl. At that point, April 7 was a reported leak—not an official release announcement. Windows Central’s report recapped the claim and its attribution.

When did PlayStation and Bethesda confirm the date?
PlayStation.Blog made the date official on March 17, announcing: “Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 7.” PlayStation’s announcement confirmed the same date that had been reported in the leak.
On April 7, Bethesda confirmed the launch had happened: “Bethesda Game Studios’ space epic, Starfield, is now available on PlayStation 5.” Bethesda’s availability announcement also said the PS5 launch version included updates released up to that point, including the Free Lanes update, and paired the platform launch with the Terran Armada story DLC.

Bethesda’s launch announcement describes what was included at release, but it does not establish what a current store listing or a particular retailer’s edition includes today. Check the live product page before buying if you are looking for a specific edition, format, or DLC inclusion.
