Masada is the level-75 system where Starfield’s main story sends you to the Buried Temple on Masada III during “Revelation.” The system has nine planets and eight moons according to the community database INARA; Bethesda’s star map is the best in-game reference for checking planets, environments, resources, and landing sites.
Where is Masada, and how do you get to Masada III?
Open the star map, locate the Masada system, and plot a course to Masada III. The trip may require multiple grav jumps: the number depends on your ship’s range. Bethesda’s “Revelation” quest guide recommends upgrading your ship and bringing ship repair parts for the mission.

Bethesda’s star-map guide explains that the system view shows planets and moons, recommended level, faction control, and selected points of interest. Selecting a planet gives access to environmental information, resource scanning, and landing-site discovery. Use those in-game views to confirm details if they differ from an external database.
What planets and moons are in the Masada system?
INARA, an unofficial community database accessed on October 8, 2026, lists nine planets and eight moons in Masada. Its page does not display a publication year. Starfield Db independently lists 17 planet-and-moon entries and also gives the system a recommended level of 75.

What resources can you find in Masada?
Masada III
INARA lists Masada III as cold, with standard oxygen and safe water. It records seven fauna and eight flora, alongside a broad range of inorganic and organic resources. Starfield Db independently lists the same eight inorganic resources:
- Argon
- Cobalt
- Iron
- Water
- Alkanes
- Nickel
- Platinum
- Ytterbium
INARA additionally lists these organic resources: amino acids, cosmetic, fiber, metabolic agent, sealant, solvent, spice, structural material, antimicrobial, hypercatalyst, nutrient, membrane, and toxin. It marks some resources as domesticable and separately lists gatherable species. These are database labels, not a guarantee that every resource or species will appear in every player’s current game. Check your scanner for the actual planet and landing area.

Why does the main story take you to Masada III?
“Revelation” brings the player to the Buried Temple on Masada III in pursuit of the last Artifact. Bethesda’s quest guide lists “Unearthed,” “Final Glimpses,” and “Entangled” as preceding quests, and “One Giant Leap” as the next quest. The guide describes the route through the encounter with the Scorpius and onward to landing at the Buried Temple. Enemy configurations can vary with earlier choices, and Bethesda notes that its walkthrough reflects one experience rather than every possible game state.

- TELL YOUR STORY - In Starfield the most important story is the one you tell with your character. Start your journey by customizing your appearance and deciding your Background and Traits. Will you be an experienced explorer, a charming diplomat, a stealthy cyber runner, or something else entirely? The choice is yours. Decide who you will be and what you will become.
- EXPLORE OUTER SPACE - Venture through the stars and explore more than 1000 planets. Navigate bustling cities, explore dangerous bases, and traverse wild landscapes. Meet and recruit a memorable cast of characters, join in the adventures of various factions, and embark on quests across the Settled Systems. A new story or experience is always waiting to be discovered.
- CAPTAIN THE SHIP OF YOUR DREAMS - Pilot and command the ship of your dreams. Personalize the look of your ship, modify critical systems including weapons and shields, and assign crew members to provide unique bonuses. In deep space you will engage in high-stakes dogfights, encounter random missions, dock at star stations, and even board and commandeer enemy ships to add to your collection.
- DISCOVER, COLLECT, BUILD - Explore planets and discover the fauna, flora, and resources needed to craft everything from medicine and food to equipment and weapons. Build outposts and hire a crew to passively extract materials and establish cargo links to transfer resources between them. Invest these raw materials into research projects to unlock unique crafting recipes.
- LOCK AND LOAD - Space can be a dangerous place. A refined combat system gives you the tools to deal with any situation. Whether you prefer long-range rifles, laser weapons, or demolitions, each weapon type can be modified to complement your playstyle. Zero G environments add a chaotic spectacle to combat, while boost packs give players freedom to maneuver like never before.
How do you find the Buried Temple?
Do not rely on a single universal surface coordinate. Bethesda’s temple-finding guide says temples are identified through scanner anomalies: land near an anomaly, then follow the scanner distortion to triangulate the temple. A location marker appears as you get close; the door may take a moment to open. INARA also notes that temple or anomaly locations can vary by playthrough.
INARA’s Buried Temple entry associates the location with Masada III, but its table labels the obtainable power as Earthbound. Bethesda’s “Revelation” guide focuses on the Artifact and quest sequence. Because those references do not establish the power as a universal outcome, treat the INARA label as a database listing rather than a guarantee for every game state.
