Xbox Wire announced the addition the day before, listing the Xbox Series X|S version under “Now with Game Pass Standard.” That wording describes the February 2025 announcement; it should not be read as confirmation of the current plan name or current catalog availability.
What Xbox announced
In a February 4, 2025 Xbox Wire post, Megan Spurr, Senior Community Lead for Xbox Game Pass, listed Starfield for Xbox Series X|S with an addition date of February 5. The entry appeared under the heading “Now with Game Pass Standard.” Read the Xbox Wire announcement.
Starfield is a role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios. Bethesda’s launch information identifies Xbox Series X|S and PC as its launch platforms on September 6, 2023, and describes its setting as a large open galaxy with character creation. Bethesda’s launch details.
What Game Pass access includes
Bethesda Support says the Starfield Standard Edition contains the base game and is included with Xbox Game Pass. That makes the February listing an access option for the base game, rather than a statement that the subscription includes every separately listed edition or add-on.

Bethesda lists the Premium Edition as including the base game, the Shattered Space Story Expansion, the Constellation Skin Pack, early access, and access to a digital artbook and soundtrack. The support page also describes Premium Upgrade and Constellation physical-edition contents; those are distinct products or editions, not additional benefits implied by the February Game Pass listing. Bethesda Support’s Starfield edition details.
Does the announcement describe the current Game Pass plan?
No. “Game Pass Standard” is the exact wording Xbox used for the February 2025 announcement. A later Xbox Wire post from October 8, 2025 uses “Game Pass Premium” in its plan listings. That later naming does not, by itself, establish the present name or terms of every plan in every region. See the later Xbox Wire plan listings.
