This is a time-stamped Steam snapshot—not a live total across every platform—and the number changes constantly.

A separate SteamDB snapshot recorded 2,175 current players, and SteamCount showed 2,112 current players with a 4,268-player 24-hour peak. What the live count measures
Concurrent players are the number of players active at roughly the same moment. It is not the number of unique people who played during a day or month, nor the number of copies sold. A 24-hour peak is the highest concurrent reading during that time window; an all-time peak is the largest concurrent reading the tracker records over its history.
The figures above cover Steam only. SteamDB’s chart explanation excludes players on Xbox, PlayStation, Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch. No public, official Starfield concurrent count spanning all platforms was established, so the Steam figure cannot be used to estimate the total number of people playing across platforms. Why trackers can disagree
Player numbers move continually, and trackers may capture them at different times. Even readings taken close together can differ. SteamDB and SteamCount also report different 24-hour and all-time peak values in the retrieved snapshots, so keep each figure attached to its source and metric rather than treating tracker readings as one unified counter.
How Starfield’s current activity compares with its Steam peak
SteamDB lists Starfield’s Steam release date as September 6, 2023 UTC, and its all-time Steam concurrent peak as 330,723 on September 10, 2023. That historical peak and today’s snapshot are comparable in platform and general metric, but one is a brief current reading and the other is the highest recorded concurrent reading. Where to check Steam activity
Steam’s official statistics page reports overall concurrent Steam users and ranks current popular games. It is useful for Steam-wide context, but it is not a Starfield cross-platform counter; Starfield-specific figures here come from third-party trackers. Steam’s page was updated October 8, 2026.
