How to complete a planet survey
Survey data becomes sellable after the body’s survey is complete. Use the planet or moon survey-progress display to see which categories remain, then scan the required flora, fauna, resources, and planetary traits. Check the scanner or map for the completed-survey status; guides report that completion produces a survey slate in your inventory.

If the progress display still shows missing entries, keep scanning the relevant categories and points of interest. An unfinished survey is not the completed survey-data item you can sell.

How to sell to Vladimir
- Progress through the Constellation story until you can reach The Eye and speak with Vladimir Sall.
- Talk to Vladimir and choose the conversation option about selling survey data. One guide reports that the option may appear after you finish the initial dialogue and speak with him again.
- Sell the completed survey slate from the available dialogue.
Which buyer should you choose?
- Vladimir is available: choose him if you want the higher return reported by guides.
- You need to sell before reaching him: use a Trade Authority vendor or kiosk for convenience, with a lower reported payout.
- The survey is for a habitable planet: check whether Phil Hill is available through the L.I.S.T. quest route.
Current game context
Bethesda lists Starfield for Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PC, and PlayStation 5. Its official site also lists the Free Lanes update and Terran Armada DLC as available. Those current-release details do not establish a change to survey-selling mechanics.
