- Outpost: The available official guidance does not confirm a specific fix for outpost mannequin losses. You can try the general home-item troubleshooting steps, but treat them as attempts rather than a guaranteed remedy.
What to do when armor vanishes from a home or apartment
Bethesda’s support article recommends checking storage first, then refreshing the area and trying broader recovery steps if necessary. These steps are troubleshooting, not a promise that missing armor will return.
- Check storage. Look for the item in available storage before concluding it is gone. Bethesda says items placed in a home may have been relocated. Bethesda Support: What do I do if the items placed in my apartment or home vanish?
- Leave and return. Fast travel away and back, or enter an area that loads separately and return. Bethesda recommends these options to refresh the area.
- Restart the game and system. Fully exit the game, restart it, and restart the device if the issue persists.
- Try an earlier save. If you have one from before the armor disappeared, load it to see whether the item is still present. Keep a separate current save before experimenting so you can return to it.
- Remove mods if you use them. Bethesda lists removing mods as a troubleshooting step. Make a separate save before changing your setup.
What Bethesda fixed for ship mannequins
Bethesda’s Starfield update 1.7.33, dated 25 September 2023, fixed an issue that caused items to disappear when applied to mannequins on ships. The same update notes addressed some items in Razorleaf storage and weapon racks after a ship change. Bethesda said a ship modification might be required for the change to affect an existing save. That patch description is ship-specific. It does not confirm that apartment or outpost mannequin losses were fixed, and the available official information does not establish whether a later update resolved those reports. How to use a display after you recover the item
Bethesda describes mannequins and display cases as containers for showing weapons, armor, and outfits in a house, starship, or outpost. Can you get unique missing armor back?
It is not established that every missing or unique armor set can be recovered in every save. Player reports describe armor that is missing, inaccessible, or appears to have moved, but those accounts vary and are anecdotal; they do not verify a dependable workaround. The best-supported course is to check storage and try Bethesda’s refresh and save-recovery steps for a home, or apply the ship-specific patch guidance when the loss occurred aboard a ship.
