The matching report about an update in Steam beta is roughly 1.9 years old, so its testing status should not be read as current. Bethesda’s official index and Steam announcements establish later updates, but do not settle whether another update entered testing after June 11, 2026.

What the headline originally referred to
The historical headline described an update available through Steam beta and said it included gameplay and quest fixes. The available record does not establish that beta’s exact patch number or a complete list of its fixes. It is therefore safest to treat the headline as a snapshot of an earlier testing period, not as a description of today’s game version.
What changed after Shattered Space?

Bethesda released Update 1.14.70 alongside Shattered Space, the game’s first story expansion. Its notes describe performance and stability improvements, plus fixes across gameplay, quests, and other areas. Bethesda’s Update 1.14.70 release notes provide the official account.

Updates in 2026
Bethesda’s news index lists Update 1.16.242 on May 14, 2026, and Update 1.16.244 on June 11, 2026. The index characterizes 1.16.244 as addressing stability, gameplay, and UI issues. The later update timeline means “first update since Shattered Space” only makes sense as historical framing. Bethesda’s Starfield news index records the update dates and also lists the April 7, 2026 Free Lanes update and Terran Armada DLC.
