If you prefer to gather it, use your scanner to find a Palladium field and mine exposed ore with a cutter, or build a solid-resource extractor at an outpost. Stock and exact locations can vary, so verify them in your save.
Where to buy Palladium
Start by checking Marcel Duris in Wolf or Clint De Haven in Alpha Centauri. INARA lists both among vendors associated with Palladium, but it does not guarantee that either will have it in stock on every visit. If one is sold out, try another resource merchant or check again later. Bethesda also notes that resources can be sought from merchants in major cities and provisioners at nearby mining or science outposts.
INARA’s Palladium resource listing is a useful set of vendor leads, not a promise of current inventory.
How to mine Palladium from a planet
- Open the planetary scanner and look for a region that contains Palladium.
- Land in or near that resource field and use the scanner while exploring to locate an exposed deposit.
- Equip your cutter and carve the solid ore from the surface. Bethesda says solid resources appear as ore chunks that can be cut with a cutter; you receive one during the first mission, and cutters can also be found or purchased from merchants.
See Bethesda’s Resource Gathering guide for its explanation of resource types and gathering.

How to extract Palladium at an outpost
- Scan planets until you find a Palladium field, then land near it.
- Place an outpost within the field and select the extractor for solid resources. Palladium is a solid resource, so use the solid-resource extraction path rather than a liquid or gas extractor.
- Provide storage for the materials the extractor gathers.
An outpost takes more setup than buying or hand-mining, but it provides a way to collect resources repeatedly. Bethesda’s Outpost Management guide covers extractor and storage mechanics.
Which Palladium route should you choose?
| Route | Convenience | Setup effort | Repeatability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy from a vendor | Quickest when a listed vendor has stock | Low | Depends on available inventory |
| Mine a surface deposit | Requires finding a Palladium field and exposed ore | Carry a cutter and search the surface | Gather again by returning to deposits |
| Outpost extractor | Useful for ongoing collection once established | Locate a field and build an outpost, extractor, and storage | Supports recurring collection |
Why a Palladium location may differ in your save
Bethesda says planetary resource distribution and NPC outposts are procedurally generated to some degree. As a result, a published planet or deposit location may not match your playthrough. Treat location lists as leads, use the in-game scanner to confirm Palladium, and check a vendor’s inventory before making a trip or committing to an outpost build. Bethesda explains the variation in its planetary resource distribution answer.
