Yes. Stargate: Timekeepers is playable on Steam Deck and has an official Playable rating—but it is not Verified. Steam’s compatibility information says its default graphics configuration performs well, while warning that some functions may need touchscreen or virtual-keyboard input, a community control layout, or patience with small text. It can work as a handheld game, but it is not a completely controller-first experience.
What is the current Steam Deck rating?
Steam’s compatibility data lists Stargate: Timekeepers as Playable and says it runs successfully on SteamOS. Valve uses Playable for games that work on Deck but may need adjustments or have minor usability issues; Verified is the higher bar for a smoother out-of-the-box experience. That distinction matters here: a Playable badge is an official compatibility result, not a promise that every menu and function works naturally with the built-in controls. See Valve’s explanation of Steam Deck compatibility ratings.
The available compatibility record lists a test timestamp of December 11, 2025, for build 20317044, and says the record was updated April 3, 2026. Those are metadata dates, not confirmation that the game itself received a patch on either date. The record’s assessment is that the default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck; it does not provide a guaranteed frame rate, battery estimate, or separate result for LCD and OLED models. Steam Deck compatibility details for the game
The Steam store lists Windows 10 64-bit as the PC operating system requirement, while the compatibility record says the game runs on SteamOS. Taken together, that indicates Deck play through SteamOS compatibility rather than a separately listed native Linux version. Steam store listing and PC requirements

- 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass, 7.4" Diagonal display size up to 90Hz refresh rate
- Wi-Fi 6E
- 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
- Carrying case with removable liner
How well do the built-in controls work?
Expect the controls to be usable, but not seamless in every part of the interface. Steam’s notes say some functionality is inaccessible with the default controller configuration, the game may show keyboard, mouse, or non-Deck controller icons, and some text may be small on the Deck screen. When text entry is needed, the on-screen keyboard must be opened manually. Steam Deck compatibility details
- For ordinary play: start with the default Deck controls; the compatibility rating supports play, not a guarantee that every interaction is mapped.
- For an awkward or inaccessible menu control: try the touchscreen or a Steam Input community layout.
- For text entry: invoke the on-screen keyboard yourself when required.
- For more precise PC-style interaction: a Bluetooth or USB mouse and keyboard may be more comfortable, though the compatibility information does not establish them as requirements.
A developer representative said in an October 28, 2024 Steam Community discussion that the game had been submitted for Steam Deck verification and that the store would be updated when the result was known. The current Playable rating is the status to rely on; the statement did not promise a future Verified result. Developer discussion about Steam Deck verification

What performance and storage should you expect?
The compatibility record says the default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck. That is the supported performance claim: there is no supplied Deck-specific frame-rate, resolution, battery-life, or LCD-versus-OLED comparison, so none should be assumed.
The Steam listing’s requirements are for the Windows PC version, not a Deck performance guarantee:

Is the full game available?
Yes. The Steam version launched on January 23, 2024, and Slitherine announced Part 2 for October 23, 2024. This is the released single-player game, not an unreleased early-access project. - Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
How to check the compatibility details on your Deck
- Open Stargate: Timekeepers in the Steam store or your library.
- Find the Steam Deck compatibility section and open its detailed information, such as More Info when shown.
- Check that the rating says Playable and read the listed input and text caveats rather than relying on the badge alone.
Valve says compatibility details are available in the store and library to help explain the expected experience. Valve’s Steam Deck compatibility page
What to try if the controls feel incomplete
- Update the game and SteamOS, then launch with the default controller layout.
- If a control or interface element does not respond, try the touchscreen.
- For text fields, manually open the on-screen keyboard.
- Check Steam Input and try a community controller configuration if the default layout is awkward.
- Restart the game after changing layouts. If precision remains a problem, connect a mouse and keyboard.
- If a technical issue persists, consult Slitherine’s Stargate: Timekeepers support forum or report a reproducible issue through its support channels.
Slitherine’s patch notes document fixes that included alternative controls and resolution behavior, but that history is not proof that every earlier issue has been eliminated. Patch 1.00.25 notes

Should you buy it for Steam Deck?
- It is a reasonable fit if you are comfortable with a Playable-rated game, occasional touchscreen or keyboard interaction, and potentially adjusting the controller layout.
- Consider playing on a PC with mouse and keyboard instead if precise input and unrestricted access to PC-style menus matter more than handheld play.
- Look more closely before buying if you require a Verified badge, need larger text, or do not want to use touch, a virtual keyboard, or an external mouse and keyboard.
The game is available on Steam, but prices and discounts vary by region and date; check the Steam listing for the current price. The central trade-off is straightforward: the compatibility data supports play on Deck, while the control and interface caveats make it less polished than a fully Verified, controller-first experience.
