Valve’s official parts-and-guides program is available through iFixit, but fit and price depend on the exact Steam Deck model and component.
Why Steam Deck parts appeared early
In May 2022, HotHardware reported that iFixit’s Steam Deck parts catalog had appeared ahead of schedule. The story was updated on May 23 after iFixit announced official Valve replacement parts and repair guides. Valve said the program followed from its intent to make the handheld repairable. Battery pricing illustrates why an old headline or dated report should not be treated as a live quote. PC Gamer reported on August 3, 2026 that an LCD OEM battery had returned to iFixit after a supply interruption at $130. That is a dated report, distinct from the $134.99 catalog snapshot above; check the storefront for the current price and stock. PC Gamer’s report describes that supply episode.
Check the exact model before buying
Steam Deck parts are not automatically interchangeable. The catalog identifies LCD-specific components and also shows some items compatible across LCD and OLED models. Verify the exact listing against your device’s model and the repair you plan to do; pay attention to any original-model or refreshed-model wording, as well as board or component revision details stated on the listing.

Can you repair a Steam Deck yourself?
Yes, some repairs are documented for DIY, but the steps, tools, and risks vary by job. Valve’s support pages direct Steam Deck owners to iFixit for replacement parts and repair guides; Steam Support’s Steam Deck help page is also the official route if you need assistance.
For example, iFixit’s Steam Button Replacement guide lists Phillips #1 and #0 screwdrivers, opening picks, tweezers, and a spudger. For that repair, it advises reducing the battery charge below 25%; it also notes Valve’s recommendation to use battery storage mode as an extra precaution before internal repairs. The guide instructs readers to power down, unplug cables, and remove a microSD card before opening the Deck. Follow the guide for the specific repair rather than assuming these steps or tools apply identically to every job.
