There is no reliable, permanently complete “all games” list to reproduce in an article: Valve continually reviews and re-tests Steam games. Use the live Steam Deck Verified catalog or the Steam Store’s Deck compatibility filter to check a specific title, then read its compatibility details. Verified is a compatibility signal—not a rating of a game’s quality or a promise of a particular frame rate.
How to check whether a Steam game is Deck Verified
- Open the official Steam Deck Verified page or find the game in the Steam Store and use its Deck compatibility information.
- Check the title’s current category: Verified, Playable, Unsupported, or Unknown.
- Open the Store compatibility details and read any notes about unmet requirements. A Playable rating may mean you need to adjust settings or use additional input, for example.
The rating can change as Valve tests newer builds or a developer updates a game, so check the live listing rather than relying on a dated article or an old screenshot.

What Verified means—and what it does not
Valve’s Steamworks documentation describes Verified as a game that “passes all compatibility checks.” Those checks cover default-controller functionality, matching controller icons, legible interface text, and a default graphics configuration that performs well on Deck. The rating applies to a tested build and configuration; it is not a universal performance guarantee.

Those are separate considerations and are not conveyed by the compatibility badge.

Verified, Playable, Unsupported, and Unknown
| Category | What it indicates | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | The game passes Valve’s compatibility checks for the tested build and configuration. | It is still sensible to check the listing for current details; the badge does not guarantee a frame-rate target or identical behavior after updates. |
| Playable | The game runs, but may need manual steps or adjustments. | Read the Store’s compatibility notes for requirements that are not met; possible friction can include keyboard or touch input, launcher workarounds, or graphics changes. |
| Unsupported | The game fails one or more compatibility requirements. | Consult the current Store listing for the title’s status and details. |
| Unknown | Valve has not completed a rating. | Check again later, since ratings can be added or changed. |
How large is the Verified catalog?
PC Gamer, citing SteamDB, reported 8,964 Verified games and 21,083 Playable games on September 2, 2026—about 30,000 titles across those two categories at that time. That is a dated snapshot, not a current total: Valve’s live catalog is the place to check individual games and present-day counts.
Why a game’s rating can change
Compatibility ratings reflect testing of a particular game build. Valve says it is reviewing the Steam catalog, and updates to a game can affect how it behaves on Deck. A rating may therefore change after new testing or a developer update; an older listing or article may no longer describe the current status.

Is Verified the same as “best games for Steam Deck”?
No. The badge answers a compatibility question. It does not rank games or establish whether a title suits your tastes, is well reviewed, lasts a particular time on battery, or works reliably with online services. To decide whether a game is right for you, consider those factors separately from its Deck compatibility category.
