Choose a Steam Deck OLED if you want a handheld built to play PC games from your Steam library. Choose an Android gaming handheld if you mainly want Android games, remote play from another device, or cloud gaming. The deciding question is not which category is universally better: it is whether your games run on the handheld or are streamed to it.
Steam Deck or Android handheld: what do you want to play?
The Steam Deck OLED runs SteamOS and is designed around handheld PC gaming. Android handhelds run Android and draw on its game and app ecosystem; some are specifically positioned for remote play and cloud services as well as local Android games.
That distinction matters for Steam games. An Android handheld does not run Steam PC games locally just because its maker lists PC gaming or streaming as a use case. Remote play sends a game from a PC or console you own or can access; cloud gaming streams a game from a service. Both depend on a suitable network and access to the relevant device, service, game, and region.
- Pick Steam Deck OLED if your priority is playing PC games from Steam on the handheld.
- Consider an Android handheld if your priority is Android games, remote play, or cloud gaming.
- For a mixed library, list the games you actually plan to play and mark whether each will run locally, remotely, or from the cloud before choosing hardware.

Steam Deck OLED: a handheld for PC games
Valve describes the Steam Deck OLED as a handheld for PC games, with SteamOS, a gamepad-oriented interface, quick suspend and resume, and docking support. Its SteamOS interface and controls are built around using a handheld as a gaming device rather than navigating a general-purpose Android environment. Logitech G Cloud: Android, remote play, and cloud gaming
Logitech G Cloud runs Android 11 with Google Mobile Services. Logitech positions it for remote play from PC, Xbox, and PS5, cloud play through NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming, and local games from Google Play. Those are supported use cases, not a guarantee that every game, subscription, or service is available in every region or works with every setup. Logitech’s product description summarizes the options as: “Play your way with Remote Play on PC, Xbox, and PS5, or PC games in the Cloud with NVIDIA’s GeForce now, in the Cloud with Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming or locally with thousands of games from the Google Play Store.” See Logitech G’s product page and Logitech’s G Cloud specifications.
Razer Edge: Android with streaming use cases
Razer Edge is another Android option. Razer’s developer portal describes Android, PC, Xbox, and cloud gaming as use cases, powered by the Razer Nexus app. Razer also presents compatible Android games and Xbox Game Pass as use cases for the Kishi V2 Pro controller; that does not mean every Android game supports every controller feature. How their published screen and hardware specifications compare
The table compares manufacturer-listed specifications, not hands-on results. Screen size, panel type, resolution, and refresh rate do not by themselves establish which display looks better, and they say nothing conclusive about game performance.

Which one fits your play style?
Choose Steam Deck OLED for a Steam-first library
If the games you want are PC games in your Steam library and you want to play them on a handheld, Steam Deck OLED is the clearest match among these options. Valve highlights quick suspend and resume and docking support, but those features do not establish that every PC game will work equally well on the device. Check compatibility for the specific games you care about before purchase.
Choose Android for Android games or streamed play
If you mainly play Android titles, an Android handheld provides access to Google Play and Android apps. If you want to stream from a PC or console, check that the source device, game, remote-play software, network, and controls fit your setup. For cloud gaming, verify that the service and particular game are available to you and that your connection meets the service’s requirements.

Compare controls and comfort in person when possible
Layout, grip, weight, and controller support can change how a handheld feels over a long session. The cited official sources do not establish an independent comfort ranking between these devices. Logitech estimates “~12 hours cloud game play time” for G Cloud under its stated normal-play conditions of 50% volume and 50% brightness. The cited specification page does not state a year for that figure. It is a manufacturer estimate for specified conditions, not an independent standardized test, and it cannot fairly be compared with another device’s result unless workload and test conditions match.
