The listing shows 256GB and 1TB models and regional prices; Valve’s Limited Drop terms say eligibility rules apply and a purchase opportunity expires at its stated deadline. Check your Steam account and Valve’s live listing for your own status and deadline.
What the Steam Frame purchase window means
Valve describes Steam Frame as a wireless VR headset with controllers, designed for both VR and non-VR gameplay. Its Steam Hardware event listing says, “Steam Frame launches today! Sign-up for reservations now.” That is a public reservation milestone, not confirmation that every person who signs up can buy immediately, nor a promise of when a unit will arrive.

The official material available does not establish an individual buyer’s invitation timing or shipment date. Monitor the reservation status and any deadline shown in your Steam account, and check the live listing for changes. Do not infer your place in the queue from reports about other Steam products.

The event listing presents two storage configurations. The prices below are the USD figures surfaced in that listing; regional prices differ, and Valve says prices include VAT where applicable.

The listing also shows prices in CAD, EUR, GBP, AUD, and PLN. Because regional prices and availability can change, use the live Valve listing to confirm the amount for your location. The listing does not establish performance differences between the storage configurations.
How to check whether you can reserve or buy
- Open Valve’s Steam Hardware listing and check that Steam Frame reservation sign-ups are still open.
- Confirm the sales channel for your region. Valve lists direct sales through Steam in the US, Canada, UK, EU, and Australia. KOMODO handles distribution in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong; South Korea is described as coming soon.
- Review the terms attached to the purchase opportunity shown to you. For the Limited Drop program described in Valve’s Steam Support terms, participants must be legal residents of the US, Canada, the UK, an EU member state, or Australia; be at least 18; have an unlimited Steam account; and have made a Steam purchase before April 27, 2026.
- Check your Steam account for any invitation, purchase deadline, or status update. Under those Limited Drop terms, the purchase opportunity expires if the product is not bought by its expiration date.
Those conditions apply to the described Limited Drop program; they should not be treated as universal rules for every region or a later purchase process. If your country is not listed, check the current regional listing and terms rather than assuming the same reservation route applies.

How the announced shipping windows fit together
Valve announced Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and Steam Frame on November 12, 2025, saying the three devices were set to begin shipping in early 2026. A later Tom’s Guide report published June 5, 2026 quoted Valve as saying Steam Machine and Steam Frame were “shipping this summer.” These are broad launch-window statements, not a personal delivery estimate. The later reservation listing is a separate milestone and does not supply an exact date for an individual buyer.

In the same June 2026 report, Valve described Steam Frame Verified as a way to help customers understand a game’s out-of-box experience and how smoothly it runs without user work or configuration. A verified label is guidance, not a guarantee that every game will perform identically in every configuration.
