The Steam Summer Sale 2026 has already ended. It ran from June 25 at 10:00 a.m. PDT through July 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The next major Steam seasonal sale is the Autumn Sale, followed by the Winter, Spring and Summer sales listed below.
Valve’s current official Steamworks schedule publishes seasonal dates through Summer 2027, correcting the older assumption that Steam only announces exact dates shortly before each sale.

- Visa Virtual eGift Cards are designed for online use only. Gift Cards are subject to Terms and Conditions: a.co/5bw3qXJ
- When you access your Visa Virtual eGift Card for the first time, you’ll need to register your name, address, phone number, and email address via activationspot.com. These details should also be used as your billing address for online purchases, as many merchants require address verification for purchase authorization.
- This Visa Virtual eGift Card is non-reloadable. No cash or ATM access. Visa Virtual eGift Cards are emailed active.
- Funds do not expire but your Visa Virtual eGift Card has a ‘valid thru’ date (9 years from date of purchase). If funds remain after this date has passed, please call the Toll Free number found on your Visa Virtual eGift Card for a replacement card. A one-time purchase fee applies at the time of checkout.
- This item is not eligible for refund, resale, or return. Available for sale within the United States only. Not available to residents of Puerto Rico, Hawaii, New Mexico, South Dakota, West Virginia and the US Virgin Islands.
That means headlines saying Valve has announced every sale date “from now until Summer 2026” are stale as of August 2026. The practical next date for shoppers is October 1, when the Autumn Sale begins.
Seasonal sales are not every Steam sale
The four dates above are the major seasonal sales, not a complete list of every promotion on Steam. Valve lists thematic events and Fests separately on its official schedule. These can focus on genres, features or types of games and may occur between the major seasonal sales.

So “every Steam sale date” is too broad if it refers only to Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. For a complete current calendar, use Valve’s Steamworks Documentation > Sales and Marketing > Upcoming Steam Events page, which contains currently announced Steam-wide seasonal and thematic events.
What developers and publishers need to know
For publishers, Valve says discounts for each seasonal sale are entered and submitted through the Discount Management page. A game generally must have been released at least 30 days before the event starts to participate in a seasonal sale.

Steam’s ordinary discount cooldown rules also have several important exceptions and edge cases:
- Products generally cannot be discounted within 30 days of another discount, but the four seasonal sales are exceptions to the ordinary 30-day cooldown rules.
- A product generally cannot be discounted within 30 days of its release.
- A product generally cannot be discounted within 30 days after a price increase in any currency.
- A product generally cannot be discounted within 30 days after its launch discount ends.
- If a cooldown expires during a seasonal sale, Valve says the developer may manually enter a custom discount after the cooldown ends.
Developers should consult Valve’s seasonal-sales discount documentation rather than relying on a general sale-calendar article for eligibility decisions.

When do wishlist notifications trigger?
Valve states that a discount of 20% or more automatically triggers email notifications to players who have the game on their wishlist. That threshold can therefore matter when publishers plan a seasonal promotion.
Bottom line
As of September 13, 2026, the next major Steam sale is the Autumn Sale from October 1–8, 2026. The following confirmed seasonal dates are Winter 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027. Summer 2026 already ran from June 25 to July 9, and the seasonal schedule does not represent every themed Steam Fest.
