The event is over; its sale prices and promotions are not current offers.
When did the Steam Winter Sale 2024 run?
Valve announced the sale as live on December 19, 2024. It was scheduled to close January 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. PST. Those dates describe the 2024–25 event, not a sale available now. Valve’s announcement used the phrase “From now until NEXT YEAR” to describe the event spanning the end of 2024 and start of 2025.
What was included?
Valve said thousands of games of various kinds were on sale. The announcement did not provide an exact count, name a complete set of discounted games, or specify individual prices and discounts. As a result, “thousands” is a qualitative description, not a precise inventory figure, and the announcement alone cannot establish what any particular game cost.
What else could players do during the event?
Alongside browsing discounts, players could visit their Steam Discovery Queue to earn Winter Sale stickers. Valve also promoted voting in 11 Steam Awards categories. Voting was scheduled to close on December 31, 2024, at 10 a.m. PST—before the sale itself ended.
