The Fanatical giveaway of a Steam key for Tempest: Pirate Action RPG ended in February 2026. It is not a live offer as of October 8, 2026, so Steam users can no longer claim a key through that promotion.
What happened to the free Tempest offer?
A Steam Community group announcement dated February 17, 2026, described a Fanatical giveaway of a free Steam key for Tempest. It said the offer would run until February 20 or until keys ran out. A separate deal listing marks the promotion expired on February 20, 2026. The community announcement and the expired listing document a past promotion, not a claim page that still works.
Some secondary reports phrase the deadline differently: one user-posted listing gives 23:59 UTC on February 20, while a Japanese report says the offer ran until 09:00 on February 21. With no official Fanatical offer page among the available sources, the safe conclusion is that the giveaway ended in February 2026; its exact final cutoff time is not established.
What were the reported claim requirements?
Summaries of the historical terms differ, so there is no reliable, single checklist to present as definitive. The February 17 Steam Community announcement said claimants needed a linked Fanatical account and email opt-in. A Japanese report also mentions newsletter signup and a linked Steam account with at least $5 in prior purchases. Those accounts do not establish that every listed condition applied in every region or throughout the promotion.

Community comments mention Fanatical region restrictions, but they are user-generated and do not establish a complete regional eligibility policy. Since the offer has expired, these reports are useful only as historical context—not as instructions for claiming a key now.
What is Tempest: Pirate Action RPG?
Steam’s listing describes Tempest as a pirate open-world action RPG, released August 22, 2016. Its listed activities include sailing between colonies and forts, completing quests, customizing a ship, trading, fighting other pirates, and encountering mythical creatures such as the Kraken and Leviathan.

The Steam Community description says players roam across three continents, with dozens of colonies and forts and hundreds of quests. Those are figures from the game’s own community description, not independently verified gameplay counts. The game is a digital Steam product; the available sources do not establish a physical edition.
