Steam published its launch announcement, “Steam Winter Sale is here!”, on December 18, 2025. The schedule was also listed by Steamworks Development.
What was discounted?
Steam described discounts on games across the store, using the promotional phrase “discounts by the thousands.” That wording does not establish a verified count of offers or guarantee that every game was discounted. The announcement named no specific games, prices or discount percentages, so it cannot confirm whether a particular title—or a game described as “new” or “Alder”—was included.
