Add games you may want to buy to your Steam Wishlist, then use Steam’s email or mobile notifications to hear when eligible Wishlisted games go on sale. If you also want historical prices, adjustable alert rules, or offers from other stores, optional trackers such as SteamDB and IsThereAnyDeal can fill those gaps.
How to get Steam sale notifications for a game

Open the game’s Steam Store page and add it to your Wishlist using the Wishlist control on that page.

Check that your Steam account can receive email, or use the Steam mobile app and allow its notifications. Steam’s Wishlist Notifications page says: “We’ll let you know by email or through our mobile app when the games on your Wishlist are on sale as a Daily Deal, Midweek Deal or Weekend Deal.”

If you do not want these alerts, Steam says you can opt out of email alerts or disable mobile notifications. Notification delivery is not a guarantee that every promotion will trigger an alert or that a deal will still be active when you open it.

Organize a long Wishlist
Valve describes Wishlist categories, improved search, category-specific notification controls, and notifications when a Wishlisted game’s demo becomes available. These features can help separate games by interest or urgency and limit notifications to categories you care about. See Valve’s Wishlist feature announcement; exact controls and labels may vary as Steam’s interface changes.
When a third-party tracker is useful
SteamDB: watchlists and price history
SteamDB’s price-history page describes historical-price information, a browser extension that can show it on Steam store pages, and the ability to watch games. Its help text says importing a Steam Wishlist is manual, so it is a less hands-off option if you want a list mirrored from Steam.

IsThereAnyDeal: import and configurable alerts
IsThereAnyDeal offers a Waitlist with configurable notification rules and says users can import a Steam Wishlist. Its Steam community profile describes the service as comparing prices across more than 30 stores and several regions. That is the service’s own coverage description; availability and retailer coverage can differ by region and change over time.

A sale alert tells you that a price event occurred; it does not establish that the price is the game’s lowest, that every promotion is covered, or that the offer remains live when you follow it. When comparing outside Steam, check the store, region, edition, and purchase terms before buying. The cited service descriptions do not establish that every listed retailer is appropriate in every region.

Wishlist tracking is not library tracking
This setup is for games you have added to your Wishlist because you may buy them later. It is not a system for monitoring discounts on games you already own. For owned games, a Wishlist alert is not evidence that an owned title has gone on sale; Steam’s documented notification wording applies to games on the Wishlist.
