What Steam’s 2025 Top Sellers chart measures
Steam’s year-end feature covered top sellers, most-played games, top new releases, and more. In its December 29, 2025 announcement, Steam described the feature as “a look at Steam’s top sellers, most-played games, top new releases, and more from 2025.” Steam News’ announcement establishes the year-end feature; the detailed chart interpretation and game lists below are reported by PCGamesN.

PCGamesN describes Top Sellers as a revenue-based chart: it reflects income generated, rather than units sold or a general popularity ranking. That distinction matters because a revenue chart cannot tell you how many copies each game sold, how many people played it, or which title players liked best. The available reporting does not provide the underlying revenue totals or unit sales.
Which games were in the reported Platinum tier?
PCGamesN reported 12 games in Platinum. The titles below are listed alphabetically for readability, not ranked; the report says Steam randomizes the order within each tier.

The list brings together releases of different scales and styles. That makes “AAA and indie surprises” a useful editorial observation about the variety of the reported group, not an official Steam classification: the reported chart tiers measure sales performance, not development category.
What the tier format does—and does not—tell you
According to PCGamesN, Steam’s tiers contain 12 games each and titles’ order within a tier is randomized. Platinum therefore identifies a performance grouping, not a precise first-through-twelfth ranking. The reported Gold tier covers places 13–24, but that range should not be confused with an exact rank for any one game when the order in the tier is randomized.
