The mode lets players revisit 19 bosses from the base game, provided they have the battle data for each boss they choose to fight.
What the trailer listing confirms
IGN’s listing, published through Open Video, describes Boss Challenge as a sequence of main-game bosses fought back-to-back. The page is dated October 5, 2026. The listing does not establish that the trailer announces new mode content, and no official trailer page or transcript is available in the sources cited here. View the IGN trailer listing.
How Boss Challenge works
Shift Up director Kim Hyung Tae announced the mode on May 23, 2024, with availability planned for May 24 in patch 1.003. He described it this way: “The Boss Challenge pits you against the 19 bosses from the base game.” Players must have battle data for a boss from defeating that boss in the main game before entering its challenge.
Choose your equipment
You can bring your own gear or select a preset build. The presets include minimum and maximum setups, so the mode can be approached with different equipment configurations rather than requiring one specific loadout.

Review your fight performance
After each battle, the game displays an analysis that includes fight time, perfect parries and dodges, and consumable use. These measures give you a way to review how you handled a boss, beyond whether you won.
Difficulty, completion reward, and unlock condition
Defeating every boss on Normal difficulty or higher awards Eve’s Neurolink Suit. Hard difficulty boss fights become available after you have seen the ending. The announcement does not say that clearing on Hard is required for the suit.

PlayStation’s US Store listing identifies Stellar Blade as a one-player action/adventure game and includes Boss Challenge Mode in its description. The listing is for the digital PS5 game. PlayStation also has a PC version page, which lists purchase options and support for the DualSense wireless controller with haptic feedback; that controller is an optional PC accessory.

The IGN trailer listing says the game is available on PS5 and PC and gives November 5, 2026, as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch date. That Switch 2 date is a claim in the IGN listing, not an official platform announcement established by the sources cited here, so treat it as unconfirmed. The PlayStation Store’s Stellar Blade listing covers the PS5 digital edition; it does not establish physical-copy availability or current stock.
