Scopely recommends taking on larger enemy pulls when your fleet can manage them. Reputation advances your standing through six S31 Faction Store ranks, where you can unlock rewards such as permanent Favors and Armada Quick Start.
How to earn Section 31 reputation
- Start with the introductory missions. Scopely names “Dosier One” and “Dosier Two” as introductory Section 31 missions. Follow the missions available to your account to begin the faction’s progression.
- Complete Wave Defense missions and events. Scopely’s S31 Faction guide identifies Wave Defense as the main reputation source.
- Consider larger enemy pulls. Scopely recommends larger pulls as a way to progress faster. This is general guidance, not a guaranteed yield or a universal best strategy; choose an encounter your fleet can handle.
- Check the S31 Faction Store as your rank rises. The store has six ranks, with offers and unlocks tied to progression.
Scopely does not publish a current numeric reputation threshold table or exact reputation yield for each mission, event, or enemy pull in the official material cited here. That means there is no supported fixed grind count or timeline to reach a particular rank.

What Section 31 reputation unlocks
Reputation determines access through the six ranks of the S31 Faction Store. Its offers include permanent Favors, Wave Defense buffs, refits, S31 Cipher, Prime Particles, Syndicate XP, Sigma resources, officer sourcing, and building or research materials. The precise offers available to an account depend on its current progression and store state.
One notable utility unlock is Operation Hermes, which enables Armada Quick Start. Check the store in-game for the reputation requirement and availability that apply to your account; the Help Center does not provide a current numeric threshold in its overview.

How The Facade fits into progression
The Facade is Section 31’s progression building. Scopely’s Update 61 patch notes introduced it at Operations Level 30 and connected it to Wave Defense and the S31 store. Those are launch-era requirements, so use the current client to confirm whether your account has met the applicable unlock conditions.
Upgrading The Facade expands store offers and improves Armada Quick Start. It also increases the daily acquisition limit and maximum storage for Armada Countdown Speed Ups. Armada Quick Start lets an Alliance or Solo Armada leader spend those Speed Ups to reduce the countdown after an armada begins; it is distinct from earning reputation itself.

Standard, Solo, and Elite Solo Wave Defense
Section 31 has expanded beyond the initial Wave Defense activity. Scopely’s Section 31 Part 1 notes, published March 4, 2025, describe Solo Wave Defense as starting at Operations Level 45 and scaling through later grades. They also describe Section 31 Access Keys as a Solo Wave Defense currency that unlocks additional store options, including Favors, Chaos Tech, Artifacts, Officers, currencies, and refits.
Update 77’s Section 31 Part 2 notes add Elite Solo Wave Defense content and the GS-31 Interceptor. Later mid-month patch notes describe a GS-31 ship-part payout increase of 222% to 333% compared with previous payouts, as well as wave-enemy rebalance changes. That percentage concerns ship-part payouts, not Section 31 reputation gains.

A practical progression plan
- Complete the introductory Section 31 missions offered to your account.
- Unlock The Facade when eligible, then use the Wave Defense missions and events available in-game.
- Choose enemy pulls according to your fleet’s ability to complete them; larger pulls are Scopely’s recommended progression approach, not a published yield guarantee.
- Revisit the S31 Faction Store as your reputation improves, prioritizing the Favor or utility unlocks that match your goals.
- If Armada countdown reduction matters to your alliance, check the store for Operation Hermes and upgrade The Facade to improve Armada Quick Start.
- Once eligible, distinguish Solo and Elite Solo Wave Defense from standard Wave Defense, and track Access Keys separately from reputation.
