Story: Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li return to the tournament
Paramount’s synopsis places the film in 1993. Ryu and Ken, described as estranged, are drawn back into combat when Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. A conspiracy puts the fighters at odds and makes them confront their past. Paramount’s synopsis closes with the promotional line, “And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!”

The confirmed setup names the World Warrior Tournament; it does not establish that the film adapts a particular Street Fighter game campaign. The film is a live-action ensemble story, while the franchise’s games are fighting games.

Kitao Sakurai is directing. The principal roles confirmed by Paramount and Capcom are:

- Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
- Callina Liang as Chun-Li

When does the Street Fighter movie come out?
Paramount lists the film’s theatrical release date as October 16, 2026. Capcom’s official trailer page also says it is hitting theaters everywhere that day. Check local listings for territory-specific availability and showtimes.

How the movie relates to the games
The film draws on Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise, which Capcom reported had sold more than 60 million units worldwide as of June 30, 2026. That is Capcom’s dated sales figure, not an independently audited total.
Street Fighter 6 is an existing game in the franchise, but the available official film synopsis does not identify it as a movie tie-in or say that the movie adapts its story.
