What platforms is Subnautica 2 on?
Unknown Worlds announced storefront availability through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox. Xbox offers the game through Xbox Game Preview; Xbox Wire also linked to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass availability. Check the relevant storefront for current platform access, regional availability, and price, since listings and promotions can change. How much does Subnautica 2 cost?
Unknown Worlds announced a US launch price of $29.99, with prices localized by region. That is a historical launch price, not a guarantee of what it costs now: check your store for the current local price and any discount. Xbox Wire’s linked store listing displayed $29.99 and a discounted $23.99 when accessed, but that promotion may no longer be available. What kind of game is it?
Steam describes Subnautica 2 as an underwater survival adventure on a new alien world, developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment. The developer’s premise follows the colony ship CICADA after its mission goes wrong. The product description says players explore, craft tools, build bases, scan creatures, and uncover the planet’s mysteries; these are the studio’s descriptions of the game, not independent assessments. Can you play Subnautica 2 with friends?
Yes. You can play solo or join online co-op with up to three friends, for four players total. Steam lists online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer. What does Early Access include, and what is still in development?
Steam’s Early Access description says the launch build includes multiplayer, several biomes, some narrative, creatures, and craftables. The game is unfinished: players may encounter bugs, features still in development, and performance issues. Unknown Worlds plans to add content including biomes, creatures, craftables, features, and narrative, alongside fixes and optimization. Unknown Worlds estimated that Early Access might last about two to three years, while warning that the duration is difficult to predict. What has the developer said about the roadmap?
Unknown Worlds’ roadmap described quality-of-life improvements for an early update, co-op additions and improvements in a later update, and ongoing fixes, balance tuning, and optimization. It also outlined a larger future content drop with expansions to the world, including biomes, creatures, resources, tools, vehicles, and story. The studio said the roadmap can change and that community feedback informs development. These planned items should not be read as confirmation that each has shipped.
