A Unknown Worlds lançou Subnautica e Subnautica: Below Zero para Nintendo Switch 2 em 17 de fevereiro de 2026. A Nintendo também lista as duas edições para o console em suas páginas brasileiras: Subnautica e Subnautica: Below Zero.

Quem possui a versão de Switch de um dos jogos pode baixar sem custo o pacote de melhoria correspondente, de acordo com a Unknown Worlds. O procedimento informado pela empresa é:
- Tenha o jogo original de Switch baixado e atualizado no Nintendo Switch 2.
- Acesse a página do jogo correspondente na Nintendo eShop.
- Selecione e baixe o pacote de melhoria gratuito.
O anúncio prevê uma exceção para o Japão: quando a versão de Switch 2 for lançada no país, o pacote terá uma taxa de ¥100 por exigência legal.
