Where and when to watch episode 1
Siliconera reported on October 5, 2026, that episode 1 would be released free on YouTube on October 6, with English subtitles. The release is territory-limited rather than universally available: the report names the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Ireland among supported locations, and says access extends to more than 75 territories. It does not give a precise local posting time.
Check the KONAMI Animation YouTube channel in your location to see whether the episode is available. Availability and the time it appears can differ by country. Siliconera’s October 5 report has the territory and timing details.
How the YouTube date differs from Japan’s premiere
The October 6 date is the reported YouTube release, not the Japanese television premiere. The official anime site lists the Japanese broadcast start as October 3, 2026, across 32 stations, with distribution through platforms. It describes episode 1 as a 60-minute expanded special. Those Japanese broadcast details do not establish the length or availability of the YouTube version outside Japan.

What story does the anime adapt?
Suikoden: The Anime adapts Suikoden II. Set in the Dunan region, it follows Riliu and Jowy, childhood friends and Highland Kingdom boy soldiers caught up in war. The official series description focuses on the choices they make and the power they gain as the conflict unfolds. KONAMI announced the adaptation as a project in production for a 2026 broadcast in August 2025.
The official anime site also names amazarashi as the performer of the opening theme, “悲しみさえ大人びて,” and Koji Nakamura for the ending theme, “closed eye sun (feat. たかはしほのか).” See the official anime site for series information, or KONAMI’s August 5, 2025 announcement for the production announcement.
