Super Bomberman Collection is an appealing way to revisit the series’ early console games, especially if you want local multiplayer, archival extras, or the chance to play Super Bomberman 4 and 5 with English localization. Its main qualification is online play: the collection’s strongest fit is a group playing together locally, not buyers expecting conventional online matchmaking.
What games are in Super Bomberman Collection?
The current collection has eight games across 13 regional or localized versions. Konami’s original seven-game lineup comprised Super Bomberman through Super Bomberman 5, plus Bomberman and Bomberman II. A free update added Panic Bomber W; the current Konami product page and Steam listing describe the eight-game collection.

The inclusion of English-localized versions of Super Bomberman 4 and 5 is a particular draw for series fans: those games originated in Japan, and the collection makes them more approachable to English-speaking players. Panic Bomber W is a competitive puzzle game for up to four players rather than another entry in the main action series.
These are the versions identified by Konami and Steam; a region’s storefront or physical SKU may not be identical. Check the local product listing if a specific edition or version matters to you.

What does the collection add beyond the games?
Konami lists save and load at any time, rewind, screen filters, a gallery, BOMB Radio for listening to music, and Boss Rush. These options make the package more convenient than a bare set of old releases: rewind can help recover from a mistake, save/load supports flexible sessions, and filters let players adjust the presentation.
Boss Rush is a time-attack mode with three difficulty levels. It is not available in Panic Bomber W, and save/load and rewind are disabled during Boss Rush, according to Konami’s European support page.

The gallery draws on the five Super Bomberman games and contains approximately 200 unique character illustrations, according to Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. (2026). It is an archive tied to those five titles, not a count of every piece of art across all eight games. Konami also lists scans of boxes and manuals among the collection’s archival material.
How does it play as a collection?
Nintendo Life reviewer Mitch Vogel gave the Nintendo Switch 2 version 7.3/10 in a review dated February 17, 2026. Vogel praised the presentation, couch multiplayer, archive material, and breadth of the package, while describing it as “little more than the sum of its parts.” That is a measured endorsement: the appeal is having these games and preservation extras conveniently together, not a claim that the compilation transforms them into something new.
For a group sharing a room, the local multiplayer is the clearest reason to buy. Bomberman’s compact rounds and competitive arena play naturally suit passing a controller or gathering around one screen. The collection also gives longtime fans a practical way to explore regional releases and compare entries without tracking down each original version.
Does Super Bomberman Collection have online multiplayer?
Do not buy it assuming it offers conventional native online lobbies or matchmaking. Review coverage, including the critic summaries collected by Metacritic, flags limited online options. The material available does not establish a full native online mode across platforms, so confirm the current mode support for your platform and edition before purchasing if remote play is essential.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition supports GameShare, a platform-specific feature Konami advertises. That should not be confused with cross-platform matchmaking or a general online-lobby system. Konami also notes that GameShare via GameChat is incompatible with Camera Mode.

Konami lists versions for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has a separate upgrade pack for Switch owners who want to move to that edition. Its TV mode supports resolutions up to 4K when connected to a 4K-capable television; this is an edition- and display-dependent feature, not a promise that every platform or screen runs at 4K.

Konami’s current US product page lists the digital release date as February 5, 2026, and the physical release date as September 25, 2026. The physical date is specific to that US page; check your region’s listing for its release date and availability. Konami lists standard, deluxe, and collector’s physical editions, but the contents and availability should be checked against the local SKU. The US page gives an ESRB E rating with “Mild Fantasy Violence / Use of Tobacco” descriptors.
There is no supported price comparison here. Choose by platform compatibility and the way you plan to play: a Switch 2 group may value GameShare, while a player chiefly interested in the games and archival material may prefer whichever edition is readily available for their system. Verify physical-edition contents rather than assuming every SKU includes the same extras.
Is Super Bomberman Collection worth it?
It is easiest to recommend to Bomberman fans, retro collectors, and households that will use local multiplayer. The English-localized Super Bomberman 4 and 5, regional versions, gallery, music player, rewind, and save features give the collection value beyond simply bundling familiar games.
It is a less certain choice if your main requirement is playing online with friends at a distance. Because online options are limited and platform-specific support should be confirmed, local play is the safer basis for a buying decision. On that measure, this is a useful, well-presented archive and party-game collection rather than a comprehensive modern online package.
