1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo find all 120 Power Stars in Super Mario 64 as included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars, collect the six mission Stars in each of the 15 main courses, each course’s 100-coin Star, and the Stars in the castle’s mini-courses and secrets. The main-course missions account for 90 Stars; they are not the full 120-Star total. Use the checklist below to track the named course objectives, then complete the castle content separately.
How do I find all 120 Stars in Super Mario 64?
Work through the course missions and castle content, checking your course totals as you go. The original manual describes 15 main courses with six Stars apiece, plus several mini-courses. Course guides also list a separate 100-coin Star for each main course. That means the six mission objectives in the 15 main courses account for 90 Stars, and the 100-coin Stars add another 15. The remaining Stars are found in castle secrets and mini-courses; reaching 120 requires both course and castle content.
- Enter a course and select a mission. Complete its objective and collect the Star.
- Return to courses for any missed missions, the red-coin objective, or the 100-coin Star. You do not have to follow a fixed mission order unless an objective requires an ability or access you have not unlocked.
- Use the course checklist below to mark each of the six missions and the 100-coin Star.
- Explore the castle’s secret areas and mini-courses for the remaining Stars.
- Check your Star count by course from the Start screen before entering a course, and save after collecting Stars or keys, as described in the original Super Mario 64 manual.
Where are all the Power Stars?
The checklist names the seven standard goals for each main course: six mission Stars and one 100-coin Star. Use the course name to find the matching level in the game. The guide’s course index covers courses 1–15 and has a separate section for Castle Secret Stars.

- Can the Eel Come out to Play?
- Treasure of the Ocean Cave

For the sunken ship, lure the eel away, swim into the ship, open its four chests in the prescribed order, then climb to the highest platform for the Star. In the ocean cave, open the chests in this order: back, left, right, front. “Through the Jet Stream” traditionally uses the Green ! Block to become Metal Mario; a timing-based swimming route is another option. The 100-coin route includes Blue Coins activated by the Blue Coin switch in the underwater cave. See the Jolly Roger Bay walkthrough for its objective-by-objective route.

How do I get the Castle Secret Stars?
Castle Secret Stars are outside the 15 main courses. Look for hidden rooms, special challenges, and mini-course entrances throughout Peach’s Castle. The total target includes these castle Stars, so do not stop when the main course checklist is complete. The course guide’s separate Castle Secret Stars section provides the corresponding secret-Star walkthroughs.
How many Stars are in each course?
The manual confirms six mission Stars in each of the 15 main courses. The checklist above also includes the course’s 100-coin Star as a distinct goal, making seven listed goals per course. These 105 course goals are not the entire 120-Star collection: Castle Secret Stars and mini-course Stars make up the difference.
