A fan-made Super Smash Bros. Ultimate mod adapts two of Link’s abilities from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Ascend and Fuse. A July 2023 report described Ascend as a way to rise through platforms and Fuse as a pause-and-select system for enhancing a sword or arrow with items from Smash. The report said the mod was unfinished at the time; its current completion, availability, and compatibility have not been verified.
What the Smash Ultimate Link mod does
Gameranx reported on July 24, 2023, that a mod for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings some Tears of the Kingdom abilities to Link. Its description focuses on two powers, not all four abilities featured in Nintendo’s game: Ascend and Fuse.
Ascend lets Link move up through the stage
In the report’s description, Ascend lets Link pass through platforms and rise through the stage. It adapts the upward movement of the Tears of the Kingdom ability to a fighting-game setting; the source does not provide further detail about its controls or gameplay balance.
Fuse enhances a sword or arrow
The reported Fuse adaptation pauses the game and presents a menu for selecting items from Smash to enhance Link’s sword or arrow. The July 2023 account describes the concept but does not specify the full item list or the resulting effects in each case.

How the mod relates to Tears of the Kingdom
Nintendo’s official The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom page identifies it as a Nintendo Switch game released May 12, 2023, and describes Link’s abilities, including Ascend and Fuse. In the original game, Ascend lets Link pass through solid objects above him. Fuse combines objects with a weapon, shield, or arrow to increase durability or damage, or add an effect. The Smash mod’s reported implementations adapt these ideas rather than reproduce every feature of the original abilities.
The mod is fan-made, not an official Nintendo feature. Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate product page provides context about the Switch game, its fighters, stages, and play options; it does not verify or endorse the mod.

Gameranx reproduced a post attributed to Claude1308 and dated July 22, 2023, announcing a trailer with the words, “My trailer for TOTK Link in modding direct”. The post also thanks @_incredibleplay for the mod effects and nozzly for making the video.
The Gameranx article said the mod was not fully finished when that report was published on July 24, 2023. That dated statement does not establish whether the project was later completed, where it can be downloaded, or which versions of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate it supports. No current download or compatibility information is established here.
