SuperTux 0.7.0 is no longer a beta: the SuperTux Team announced its first beta on December 29, 2025, and released the stable version on March 15, 2026. The beta preview spotlighted complete overhauls of World 1 and Rooted Forest (World 2), plus Bonus Island 1; the finished release expanded the redesign across Story Mode, Revenge in Redmond, and Bonus Island I, alongside new abilities, local multiplayer, and revamped visuals.
What the SuperTux 0.7 beta changed
In its December 29, 2025 announcement, the SuperTux Team called beta 1 a large facelift, with worlds, artwork, and music redone. The named world changes were complete overhauls of World 1 and Rooted Forest, or World 2, as well as an overhaul of Bonus Island 1. Several enemy and boss encounters were called out specifically: Gold Bomb, Igel, Spidermite/Tarantula, and Ghoul were redesigned, along with the Yeti and Ghost Tree boss fights. The beta also previewed a revamped level editor, new cutscenes, and additions to music.
What shipped in stable version 0.7.0
The stable release, dated March 15, 2026, carried the redesign beyond the beta’s named areas. Its notes describe a complete level-design and story rework for Story Mode, Revenge in Redmond, and Bonus Island I, alongside revamped graphics for most backgrounds, tiles, objects, and enemies. They also list new non-player characters and enemies, updated GoldBomb, Igel, Ghoul, Yeti, and Ghost Tree, new music, and the editor revamp. SuperTux 0.7.0 release notes

Gameplay additions and changes in the stable notes include:
- Slope sliding and stronger buttjumps.
- Rock rolling and crawling.
- Glinted enemies and keys.
- An item pocket.
- Bonus islands unlocked through Tux Dolls.
- Local multiplayer.
The release notes also describe internal code and porting work, including a CMake refactor, Android revival, and Flatpak builds.

Where to get SuperTux 0.7.0
The official download page lists version 0.7.0 as the current stable release, with downloads for Linux, Windows, and macOS, and a browser-play option. Its Android section describes a 0.6.3 APK, not a 0.7.0 APK. The page says SuperTux left the Google Play Store on February 3, 2025, after a policy change requiring a maintainer’s personal information to be made public. The stable release notes warn that saves from 0.7.0 betas may need manual conversion from .old files and recommend starting a fresh Story save. If you are upgrading from a beta, preserve your existing save data before making changes, then follow the conversion guidance in the release notes rather than assuming the old save will load unchanged.
