SUPERVIVE combined battle-royale matches and multi-squad fights with hero abilities, team modes, and boss objectives, making the “Apex meets League of Legends” comparison a useful shorthand for its ambitions—not a literal description of its systems. But the game’s live service ended on February 25, 2026. Whether the client can still be downloaded or played offline is not established by the shutdown announcement, so this is now a look at what the game set out to do, rather than a straightforward recommendation to jump in.
What was SUPERVIVE?
SUPERVIVE was a free-to-play hero-shooter and MOBA battle royale developed by Theorycraft Games. Its 1.0 version launched globally on Steam on July 24, 2025. The studio’s launch announcement presented it as a combination of team-based combat, battle-royale matches, distinct character abilities, and additional modes—not simply a crossover or reskin of Apex Legends and League of Legends. Where the Apex and League comparisons fit
The comparison works best as a way to describe the game’s broad ingredients. SUPERVIVE put squads into a battle-royale setting while giving hunters individual abilities and creating opportunities for coordinated teamfights. That places it near the hero-shooter and MOBA traditions the title evokes, while its announced formats and objectives gave it a distinct mix.

The available official launch description does not establish the specific perspective, controls, or moment-to-moment combat feel, so the comparison should not be taken as proof that SUPERVIVE played like either named game. It is more reliable to describe what Theorycraft explicitly announced: multi-squad fights, teams, ability-bearing hunters, and several different modes.

Modes and objectives beyond battle royale
The 1.0 launch announcement named three formats: 10-team battle royales, two-player duos, and 4v4 deathmatches. It also highlighted boss monsters as objectives and hunters with distinct abilities. Those ingredients suggest a design built around more than simply surviving until one team remains: squads could fight each other, pursue objectives, or choose a different team format. Theorycraft’s 1.0 announcement
The game continued to expand and test its mode ideas after launch. Official patch notes describe a tournament prototype in which six teams met in 2v2 duels, with winners advancing and equipment or perk choices between rounds. Later updates introduced Domination, focused on attacking and defending points, and Prisma Party, a two-team 6v6 prototype built around collecting and uploading Prisma. These were updates and prototypes in the game’s 2025 live-service period, not evidence that those modes remain playable now. SUPERVIVE official Steam news and patch notes

Why its ambition could feel intimidating
SUPERVIVE’s design brought together several layers to learn: hunter abilities, team coordination, combat against other squads, objectives, and equipment or perk choices. Its official updates also show that the developers were still working on how to introduce and explain those systems. Later notes added recommended item choices, while a developer blog acknowledged that item effects could be difficult for newcomers to compare at a glance. That documents a design challenge the team was addressing; it does not establish how every player experienced the game. SUPERVIVE official Steam news and patch notes
SUPERVIVE’s launch model and historical reception
The June 2025 1.0 announcement described SUPERVIVE as free-to-play, with cosmetics as its only in-game purchases and no pay-for-power elements. Those statements describe the announced 1.0 model; they do not confirm current storefront access or availability after the service ended. The same announcement reported more than 17,000 Steam reviews at 90% positive. That is a publisher-reported Early Access snapshot from June 29, 2025—not a current rating, player count, or measure of the game’s status today. Theorycraft’s 1.0 announcement

What the shutdown means for players now
The key practical update is that SUPERVIVE’s live service ended on February 25, 2026. Theorycraft’s December 16, 2025 announcement said Patch 2.04 would be the final planned content patch before the sunset. SUPERVIVE’s official end-of-service announcement and patch notes
That announcement establishes the end of live service, but it does not establish whether Steam still distributes the client or whether any offline mode works. If you are considering playing, check the current Steam listing and official announcements rather than assuming the former free-to-play release is still downloadable or functional. The confirmed history is a globally launched 2025 game whose service later ended—not a verified current multiplayer offering.
