teamviewer_resource_he.dll is a TeamViewer language-resource file, not a Windows system DLL. If Windows says it is missing, could not be loaded, or was not designed to run on Windows, the safest fix is to repair or reinstall the TeamViewer package that should contain it.
The _he suffix is identified by public file listings as the Hebrew resource variant. Historical records associate the file with TeamViewer versions including 9, 11, and 13, but those records are not a current TeamViewer file manifest.
| File detail | What it means |
|---|---|
| File | teamviewer_resource_he.dll |
| Category | TeamViewer application resource |
| Reported architecture | 32-bit for the listed version 9.0.24951.0 |
| Reported size | About 0.29 MB for that version |
| Normal location | The TeamViewer installation directory |
| Windows component | No |
| Correct repair | Restore the complete matching TeamViewer package |
What the error means
You may see wording such as:
- “The program can’t start because teamviewer_resource_he.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because teamviewer_resource_he.dll was not found.”
- “Error loading teamviewer_resource_he.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “teamviewer_resource_he.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
These are reported error variants rather than a guaranteed official TeamViewer error catalog.
A resource DLL usually contains language or interface data used by an application. It is not normally loaded like a plug-in that you register with Windows. TeamViewer expects its resource files to be installed alongside the appropriate TeamViewer executable, commonly under a path such as:

C:Program Files (x86)TeamViewer
The exact directory depends on the TeamViewer product, installation type, Windows architecture, and version. The file should not be copied to C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64.
The problem often starts after an interrupted update, incomplete installation, antivirus quarantine, manual deletion, cleanup software, moving the TeamViewer folder, or mixing files from different TeamViewer releases. If TeamViewer itself works but another program requests this file, the request may come from an old shortcut, abandoned TeamViewer component, or counterfeit software.
Fix 1: Reinstall the correct TeamViewer package
This is the most likely repair because it restores the complete set of TeamViewer files instead of replacing one file in isolation.
1. Identify what you have installed
- Press Windows + I.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Search for TeamViewer.
- Note whether the entry is TeamViewer, TeamViewer Host, QuickSupport, or another TeamViewer product.
- Open Settings > System > About and check System type to see whether Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Older TeamViewer packages and historical records may be 32-bit. Current TeamViewer downloads provide separate Windows 32-bit and 64-bit clients, so choose the architecture that matches the affected installation and the package you intend to restore. Do not copy a resource file from a different TeamViewer version.
2. Uninstall the damaged installation
- Close TeamViewer from the notification area near the clock.
- In Installed apps, select TeamViewer.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Follow the uninstall wizard.
- If the wizard offers to remove TeamViewer settings, select that option when you are deliberately rebuilding the installation.
- Restart Windows.
On older Windows versions, use Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select TeamViewer, and choose Uninstall.
3. Download and install TeamViewer again
- Open TeamViewer’s official Windows download portal by entering the address manually or using a trusted bookmark.
- Select the same product type you previously used: Full Client, QuickSupport, or Host.
- Choose the matching 32-bit or 64-bit Windows package.
- Download the installer.
- Run the downloaded
TeamViewer_Setup.exe. - When Windows displays the publisher information, verify that it identifies TeamViewer Germany GmbH.
- Choose the default installation option unless your organization requires another setup.
- Restart Windows if the installer requests it.
- Start TeamViewer.
A successful repair means TeamViewer opens without the missing-DLL message and its installation directory contains the resource files required by that package. Do not judge success by whether a DLL exists somewhere on the disk. It must belong to the same TeamViewer product and installation.
If the error remains, uninstall again, restart, remove only clearly identifiable leftover TeamViewer folders, and retry with the correct official package. Do not delete unrelated folders or registry entries during this step.
Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
Windows Security or another endpoint-security product may have removed the file. Do not immediately restore it. A TeamViewer-named file in an unexpected location can also be counterfeit.

- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections.
- Look for an event mentioning TeamViewer or
teamviewer_resource_he.dll. - Check the detected file path.
- If the path was inside the genuine TeamViewer installation and the installer came from TeamViewer, record the detection details.
- Run a scan before restoring anything.
- If the detection remains suspicious, remove the questionable TeamViewer installation and reinstall it from the official TeamViewer portal instead.
Microsoft notes that restoring a quarantined item places it back on the device and may cause another detection. The safer approach is usually to confirm the source and reinstall the complete package, not to restore an isolated file.

If security software repeatedly removes the newly installed file, update its detection definitions, run a full scan, and contact the security vendor if necessary. Do not add a broad exclusion for the Windows or Program Files folders.
Fix 3: Confirm that the application is using the right path
A stale shortcut or leftover component can request a file from an old location.
- Right-click the shortcut that produces the error.
- Select Properties.
- Review the Target and Start in fields.
- Check whether they point to a TeamViewer folder that no longer exists.
- Delete the stale shortcut.
- Start TeamViewer from the current installation entry in the Start menu.
You can also search File Explorer for teamviewer_resource_he.dll. If a copy exists outside a TeamViewer installation directory, do not automatically use it. A filename alone does not prove that a file is genuine or compatible.

Repairing TeamViewer will not fix a separate program that has retained an obsolete reference.
Fix 4: Check 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
A TeamViewer resource DLL belongs to a particular application package. Historical public records list teamviewer_resource_he.dll version 9.0.24951.0 as 32-bit. Other records associate the filename with later TeamViewer releases, but historical version and size information should not be treated as a complete compatibility guide.
Do not:
- Copy a 32-bit file into a 64-bit TeamViewer installation.
- Mix files from TeamViewer 9, 11, 13, or another release.
- Replace a current package with a DLL taken from an older installer.
- Move the DLL between Full Client, Host, and QuickSupport folders.
The reliable match is the complete TeamViewer package for the same product type and appropriate Windows architecture. If you are unsure which package was installed, remove the damaged copy and install the current product that matches how you use TeamViewer.
Fix 5: Repair Windows components only if other programs are also failing
SFC and DISM do not normally supply third-party TeamViewer files. Use them when Windows has broader corruption, such as multiple built-in applications failing, damaged system files, or repeated servicing errors.
First install pending Windows updates:
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart Windows.
Then open an elevated Command Prompt:
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Approve the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Wait for it to finish. Then run:
sfc /scannow
Restart Windows after both commands complete and test TeamViewer again.
If SFC reports that it repaired files, test the application. If it reports that it could not repair some files, repeat the TeamViewer reinstall rather than expecting SFC to provide teamviewer_resource_he.dll.

Repeating SFC and DISM without knowing what changed can make troubleshooting harder. Outbyte PC Repair can scan for broader Windows problems and show what it detects, while its full version performs repairs; reinstalling TeamViewer remains the definitive fix for this application-specific DLL.
Fix 6: Update drivers only when the symptoms are broader
Graphics and device drivers do not normally provide teamviewer_resource_he.dll, so driver replacement is not a primary fix for this error. Consider it only if TeamViewer also crashes with display problems, remote-session rendering failures, or other hardware-related symptoms.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
To check drivers manually:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the relevant category, such as Display adapters or Network adapters.
- Right-click the device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if a driver is installed.
Do not remove a device driver merely because TeamViewer reports a missing language resource. Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated drivers and identify the exact versions instead of making you inspect devices manually; the full version performs driver installation, and it is not required to restore this TeamViewer DLL.
Fix 7: Use System Restore only after identifying a system-change trigger
System Restore is reasonable if the error began immediately after a known installation, update, or system change and a suitable restore point exists.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
rstrui.exe. - Press Enter.
- Select Next.
- Choose a restore point created before the problem began.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Review the applications and drivers that may be removed.
- Select Next, then Finish.
System Restore can remove subsequently installed applications and settings. It is not a substitute for reinstalling TeamViewer, and it cannot be used if no suitable restore point exists.

Do not download the DLL from a random website
An isolated download may contain malware, the wrong version, the wrong architecture, or a modified file. Even a clean copy may not fix the damaged TeamViewer installation that caused the error.
Use the official TeamViewer Windows download portal and the installer named TeamViewer_Setup.exe. The complete package is safer and restores related resources that a single DLL download cannot provide.
Do not copy it into System32 or SysWOW64
Those folders are for Windows components and shared system binaries. Placing a TeamViewer resource DLL there can create version conflicts and still leave TeamViewer’s own directory incomplete.
Do not routinely run regsvr32
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer, commonly ActiveX or COM components. A TeamViewer language-resource DLL is not normally registered that way.
Running a command such as the following is therefore not a normal repair:
regsvr32 teamviewer_resource_he.dll
It may produce an entry-point error without changing TeamViewer’s installation.

Do not install runtimes as the first response
Visual C++ Redistributable, DirectX, .NET, graphics drivers, and Windows Features do not normally supply this TeamViewer resource file. Enable or repair those components only when a separate application explicitly reports a missing dependency from that component.
FAQ
Is teamviewer_resource_he.dll part of Windows?
No. It is associated with TeamViewer and should normally remain in the TeamViewer installation directory.
What does _he mean?
Public file listings identify _he as the Hebrew TeamViewer resource variant. TeamViewer’s current documentation does not appear to publish a file-specific definition of the suffix.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhich TeamViewer products may contain it?
Older full clients, installers, QuickSupport packages, Host packages, and related TeamViewer modules may carry language-resource DLLs. The exact files depend on the product and package version.
Is the file 32-bit or 64-bit?
Historical public records list version 9.0.24951.0 as 32-bit. The correct replacement must come from the matching TeamViewer package, not from a historical file record.
Why does reinstalling TeamViewer still fail?
Check the product type and architecture, inspect Windows Security Protection history, remove stale shortcuts, and confirm that the installer was obtained from TeamViewer. If another program still requests the file, troubleshoot that program separately.
Should I use SFC or DISM?
Only when Windows shows broader corruption. These commands repair protected Windows components; they are not a normal source for a TeamViewer DLL.
What information should I provide to support?
Record the exact error wording, TeamViewer product name, Windows version, 32-bit or 64-bit system type, TeamViewer installation path, whether the issue began after an update, and any antivirus detection involving the file.
