TECNO and GEEKOM unveiled the MEGAMINI G1 on September 3, 2024, launching it through Kickstarter as a roughly 5.74-liter gaming PC with integrated liquid cooling, a discrete NVIDIA RTX 4060, a front monitoring display, RGB lighting, and OCuLink expansion.
Its headline specifications need context: the Core i7/Core i9 processors and RTX 4060 are laptop-class components, not desktop equivalents. The G1’s appeal is its unusually small footprint and distinctive cooling system—not maximum performance per dollar. Kickstarter pricing began at about $1,499, but that historical figure should not be treated as a current universal retail price.

What is the MEGAMINI G1?
The MEGAMINI G1 is a compact gaming mini PC developed and branded by TECNO and GEEKOM. It combines mobile Intel processors with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 inside a chassis measuring approximately 5.74 liters.
GEEKOM and TECNO describe it as the world’s smallest water-cooled gaming mini PC. That is a manufacturer claim rather than an independently established industry standard, but the underlying design is unusual: the G1 places a liquid-and-air cooling system, discrete graphics, RGB lighting, and a small hardware-monitoring screen into a sub-six-liter enclosure.

Official pages do not agree on every detail. They variously identify the high-end processor as the Core i9-13900H or i9-13900HK, list different chassis dimensions, and describe storage capacity differently by region. The volume figure is the most useful headline comparison; TECNO lists dimensions of 258 × 154 × 156mm, while another official specification page lists 255 × 150 × 150mm.
For any purchase or review, identify the exact SKU. An i7 model should not be treated as interchangeable with an i9-13900HK/32GB/2TB configuration.
Core i9 and RTX 4060: the mobile-hardware caveat
The MEGAMINI G1 does not contain a conventional desktop Core i9 processor. Its advertised i9-13900H or i9-13900HK is a 13th-generation mobile chip designed for a different power and thermal envelope from desktop Core i9 processors.
The RTX 4060 should also be understood as a laptop-class implementation rather than automatically equated with a full-size desktop RTX 4060 card. Power limits, clocks, cooling, and the selected performance mode all affect results. Component names alone are therefore not enough for a meaningful comparison with a desktop.
The hardware is best positioned as a 1080p gaming platform. The RTX 4060 supports DLSS 3 and can provide substantially more gaming capability than integrated graphics, but its 8GB of VRAM is a constraint for demanding modern games, high-resolution texture packs, ray tracing, and higher resolutions. Available coverage, including TechSpot’s launch report, places the laptop-grade configuration in the 1080p class rather than presenting it as a high-end 4K desktop replacement.
How the liquid cooling works
GEEKOM advertises a 360ml coolant capacity, circulation of up to eight times per minute, a pump rated below 26dB, a 6,888mm2 copper heatsink covering the CPU and GPU, and two industrial-grade fans producing more than 106 CFM of airflow. The company also advertises a 250W power-performance figure.

Those are vendor specifications, not independent measurements of sustained system power or total acoustic output. The liquid loop’s practical purpose is to move heat away from the compact CPU and GPU area and transfer it to a radiator and fans. It may help the small enclosure manage sustained loads, but it does not turn mobile hardware into desktop hardware.
There is also a significant inconsistency in GEEKOM’s published cooling information: one regional page reports a maximum flow rate of 2.0 LPM, while another lists 20 LPM. Those figures should not be silently combined or presented as a settled specification.
Likewise, the sub-26dB figure appears to describe the pump. It is not a whole-system gaming noise measurement. Fan noise, pump noise, heat soak, room temperature, and the selected power mode all matter. TECNO advertises Beast, Smart, and Eco modes, switchable with Ctrl + Alt + T; that is a vendor-specific shortcut, not a standard Windows control.

GEEKOM advertises 15 ports, although counting conventions may include the DC input and power button. The individual connections listed on official specifications include:
- Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports
- Two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports
- Two USB 2.0 ports
- Two USB4 ports
- One SD card reader
- One OCuLink port
- One 3.5mm headphone jack
- One 2.5Gb Ethernet port
- Two HDMI 2.0 outputs
- DC input and power button
USB-C display output support should be verified for the specific port and configuration rather than assumed from the USB4 label. The official GEEKOM Japan specification page provides one of the more detailed port lists.
What OCuLink adds
OCuLink is advertised as a PCIe 4.0 x4 connection for an external GPU or storage array. It can provide a more direct PCIe link than many general-purpose external GPU arrangements, giving the G1 a useful upgrade path.
However, OCuLink is not a complete eGPU solution. An external graphics setup still needs a compatible dock or enclosure, a separate GPU, an appropriate power supply, a cable, and enough physical space for the card. Drivers, GPU clearance, power delivery, and operating-system compatibility also need to be checked. The accessories can add several hundred dollars and make the supposedly simple mini-PC setup considerably larger.

Those are historical launch figures, not a verified current U.S. retail price. The U.S.-oriented GEEKOM product page has continued to direct readers toward campaign-related purchasing information, while GEEKOM Japan listed an i9-13900HK/32GB/2TB configuration at ¥269,000 on sale and marked it sold out when checked. Regional pages in the UK and elsewhere have shown different launch pricing and availability.
Check the official regional page, warranty terms, return policy, and stock status before buying. A campaign promise such as guaranteed delivery is a company statement, not independent evidence of fulfillment performance.
Ownership, software, and repair concerns
The liquid loop is both the G1’s defining feature and its main ownership trade-off. Compared with a conventional air-cooled mini PC, it adds a pump, coolant, tubing, seals, and additional components that may eventually require service. Disassembly can also be more difficult, and coolant replacement or leak-related repair may depend on manufacturer support rather than a routine user procedure.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Owner discussions mentioning coolant loss, display problems, difficult repairs, or support delays are anecdotal. They may identify questions to ask, but they do not establish a systemic defect or failure rate.
Software maturity was another concern in early coverage. Digital Trends’ hands-on review praised the cooling concept but expressed reservations about software in the product’s then-current state. Relevant checks include the monitoring-screen software, Beast/Smart/Eco controls, firmware updates, graphics-driver stability, display-output behavior, and Windows power-plan handling. Early criticism should not be treated as proof that every later unit has the same issue, particularly when support software can change.

Gaming laptop
A gaming laptop offers similar mobile CPU and GPU hardware in a more established all-in-one package with a screen, keyboard, battery, and generally broader retail availability. The G1 makes more sense for someone who already owns a monitor and peripherals and wants a stationary, compact desktop. A laptop is the better fit for portability.
Conventional gaming desktop
A conventional desktop usually delivers more performance per dollar, desktop-class components, easier repairs, and a clearer upgrade path. It loses on footprint and visual minimalism. Unless the G1’s size is a primary requirement, a small conventional desktop is likely the stronger value.

ASUS ROG NUC-class systems
The ASUS ROG NUC line is a more direct compact-gaming comparison. Digital Trends compared the G1 with the ASUS ROG NUC 970 at similar RTX 4060-class pricing. The G1 differentiates itself with integrated liquid cooling, its front display, and its transparent RGB design; a ROG NUC may appeal more to buyers who value a more established compact-PC ecosystem. Current configurations and street prices must be checked separately at ASUS’s ROG NUC portal.

Newer AMD mini PCs
Newer AMD mini PCs can provide more modern CPU platforms, strong integrated graphics, lower power consumption, and simpler air cooling. They generally do not match the G1’s combination of a discrete RTX 4060, DLSS support, liquid loop, front display, and OCuLink implementation.
DIY small-form-factor PC
A DIY Mini-ITX or other small-form-factor build offers greater component choice, desktop performance, upgradeability, and repairability. It requires assembly, troubleshooting, cable management, and more careful component selection. The G1’s premium pays for convenience and industrial design rather than necessarily delivering the best raw hardware value.
Who should buy the MEGAMINI G1?
The MEGAMINI G1 is a niche premium gaming system for buyers who specifically want:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- A discrete GPU in an approximately 5.74-liter chassis
- A visually distinctive transparent/RGB design
- Integrated liquid cooling in a prebuilt mini PC
- A built-in monitoring screen
- OCuLink expansion for a future external GPU or storage setup
- A compact desktop for an existing monitor-and-peripherals setup
It is a poor choice if the priority is maximum performance per dollar, desktop-class upgradeability, simple repairs, the newest processor generation, or a reliable current price available across regions.
For performance comparisons, do not rely on “Core i9” and “RTX 4060” labels alone. A fair test must identify the exact SKU, game version, resolution, graphics preset, ray-tracing setting, DLSS or frame-generation setting, driver version, ambient temperature, and power mode.
Verdict
The MEGAMINI G1 is a genuine and technically distinctive compact gaming PC, not merely a prototype announcement. Its 5.74-liter chassis, liquid-and-air cooling, RTX 4060 graphics, front display, and OCuLink port make it more interesting than an ordinary integrated-graphics mini PC.
But the product’s size and design come at a premium. The Core i9 and RTX 4060 are mobile-class parts, the 8GB GPU is aimed primarily at 1080p gaming, the liquid loop introduces maintenance and repair complexity, and the original Kickstarter prices cannot be assumed to represent current retail value. Buy the G1 for its unusual combination of compactness, discrete graphics, and cooling design—not simply because its component names sound like desktop hardware.
