It is a small damage fallback—not a way to turn a miss into a hit—and it is available on most Greatclubs, as well as Flails, Morningstars, and Mauls.
What Tenacity does
Tenacity is a weapon feature that can deal damage after a missed melee attack. The damage is bludgeoning and equals the wielder’s Strength modifier, with a minimum of 1. The original attack remains a miss; Tenacity adds damage rather than changing the attack’s result.
The feature is treated as a reaction. Example weapon entries specify that Tenacity is gained while the weapon is held in the main hand.
Which weapons have Tenacity?
- Greatclubs, except Rat Bat
- Flails
- Morningstars
- Mauls
These are the weapon categories associated with the feature; the available information does not establish that one category is generally better for a particular build. Consider proficiency, the weapon’s other features, and how you acquire it.

When Tenacity does not trigger
Tenacity does not trigger when a weapon action misses. Its stated trigger is a missed melee attack, so do not assume it applies to every attack or action.
Reported equipment interactions
The game reference lists cases where Tenacity damage can activate some equipment on-hit effects, including Gloves of Power, Callous Glow Ring, weapon coatings, and Ring of Elemental Infusion. These are specific reported interactions, not evidence that Tenacity activates every effect described as on-hit.

Reported Horde Breaker bug
A reported bug involving Horde Breaker (Melee) can cause its invisible, zero-damage attacks against other targets to prompt Tenacity even when the initial attack hits. This may result in two hits from one attack; it is not the normal Tenacity trigger.

Greatclub +1

Argument Solver
Argument Solver is an uncommon +1 Greatclub with Tenacity and the separate Poison Mist weapon action. It is found with Mig on the main floor of Moonrise Towers. Poison Mist can affect nearby creatures and objects, including allies, so account for that area effect independently when choosing whether to use the weapon. See the Argument Solver item entry.

Tenacity’s value is limited to the occasions when its melee-attack miss trigger applies. Its damage scales with the wielder’s Strength modifier, subject to the minimum of 1; it does not improve accuracy or rescue a missed weapon action. The named Greatclubs also have other differences: Argument Solver has Poison Mist, while Greatclub +1’s listed distinction here is its acquisition options. Choose based on weapon access, proficiency, and those separate properties rather than assuming Tenacity makes one weapon universally best.
