Guiding a group through the desert
The described play combines strategic traversal and stealth with hazards such as wildlife, extreme heat and cold, and Border Patrol. Campfire sequences offer a quieter counterpoint: members of the group share stories while traveling together. The project’s premise centers on the people making the journey, rather than presenting a comprehensive account of migration or border policy.
How Anima Interactive describes its approach
Reyes says the team draws on real-world stories and works with migrants with lived experience, anthropologists, humanitarians, and migration experts. She also said she visited border shelters and interviewed people directly affected. These are the developer’s descriptions of its process, not an independent audit of the game’s accuracy or impact.
