Patch 1 is available for Terminator 2D: NO FATE on Nintendo Switch, but its published notes do not say that it fixes crashing. That means the claim that Switch crashes are “solved” is not confirmed by the available official information. If the game is freezing or closing, try Nintendo’s general troubleshooting steps below; they may help, but they are not a guaranteed game-specific fix.
Does Patch 1 fix crashing in Terminator 2D: NO FATE?
Bitmap Bureau confirms that Patch 1 is live on Nintendo Switch. Its notes list changes involving checkpoints, achievements, gameplay, audio and level details, but do not identify a crash fix or say that crashing has been solved. That omission does not prove the patch contains no stability improvements; it means the published notes do not substantiate a game-specific crash fix. Read Bitmap Bureau’s Patch 1 notes.
Bitmap Bureau’s post displays the date “Jun 22” without a year. Perfectly Nintendo dates the Switch update to June 22, 2026; that is a secondary source’s date, not a year stated in the official post. See Perfectly Nintendo’s update history.
The game was released for Nintendo Switch on December 12, 2025, according to Bitmap Bureau’s launch announcement. Read the launch announcement. The official materials cited here do not report how many Switch players experience crashes, so there is no substantiated crash rate to quote.

What to try if the game freezes or closes
Nintendo’s steps below are general advice for downloaded Switch software that freezes or stops responding, not a confirmed cure for Terminator 2D: NO FATE. Follow them in order, starting with the least disruptive actions. Nintendo advises using the instructions for the exact error code or message if one appears. Nintendo’s troubleshooting guidance for downloaded software.
1. Restart the console
- Hold the console’s POWER Button for at least three seconds.
- Select Power Options, then Restart.
- If the console is unresponsive, hold POWER for 20 seconds to force it off, then press POWER to turn it on again.
2. Update the system and game
- For the system update, open System Settings > System > System Update.
- To check the game, return to the HOME Menu, highlight Terminator 2D: NO FATE, press the + or − Button, then choose Software Update > Via the Internet.
Perfectly Nintendo also describes the HOME Menu update path for Patch 1. Availability of an update may depend on the console’s current software version and network connection.

3. Check for corrupted data
- Open System Settings > Data Management > Manage Software.
- Select Terminator 2D: NO FATE, then choose Check for Corrupt Data.
- If the console reports an issue, follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Delete and redownload the game if needed
If the earlier steps do not help and the game is downloaded, Nintendo recommends considering deletion and redownload. Before deleting it, make sure you can access the Nintendo Account that owns the game and redownload it. Nintendo’s guidance notes that save data is stored in system memory in the microSD troubleshooting context; deleting software is not the same as deleting save data, but take care to select the software rather than saved data.
5. Isolate a microSD-card issue
If the game is installed on a microSD card, Nintendo suggests trying another card or removing the card and downloading the software to system memory. Do not format a card casually: formatting deletes its contents. Back up anything you need and follow Nintendo’s instructions before formatting.

What information to collect if it still crashes
If the crash continues after these platform-level checks, contact Nintendo or the game’s publisher or developer with details that can help identify the cause. Record:
- The exact error code or message, if shown.
- When the crash happens and the steps that reproduce it—for example, a particular level, menu, or checkpoint.
- Your console model, system version and game version.
- Whether you play from a cartridge or a digital download, and whether the game is installed on a microSD card.
For a specific error code, use Nintendo’s guidance for that exact message rather than assuming the general sequence above applies. The official Patch 1 notes do not provide a crash-specific support procedure.
