Terraria secret seeds are special world-generation codes. You enter one when creating a new world, and it can alter terrain, biomes, loot, hazards, progression, survival rules, or overall difficulty. The code is not a command for an existing world: it is processed during world creation, so you must generate a new world to see its effects.

Terraria 1.4.5 launched on January 27, 2026, for PC, console, and mobile, with the exception of the bespoke China Mobile edition. Desktop 1.4.5.4 added a Secret Seed menu that lets you toggle unlocked seeds without retyping every code. Because seed names, aliases, and combinations can vary by platform and version, record the exact version whenever you share or troubleshoot one.

A normal Terraria seed determines the random layout of a newly generated world. A secret seed adds another layer of rules. Depending on the seed, generation may use unusual terrain, special biome placement, different structures, altered loot, extra traps, survival mechanics, or a substantially harder progression curve.
Secret seeds are therefore closer to world presets than to cheat codes. They do not retroactively transform a world you have already played. Entering a code while creating a world causes Terraria to process it as part of generation; the Official Terraria Wiki describes that processing as a “non-reversible function (a cryptographic hash function).” Once the world exists, its generated rules are effectively fixed.

Some seeds make a narrow change, such as emphasizing traps or bees. Others combine several rule sets into a full challenge mode. A seed can also be used alongside an ordinary numeric or text seed, but the result is not always intuitive: effects can conflict, override one another, or make the world dramatically more difficult.
How to enter a secret seed
- Open Terraria and choose the option to create a new world.
- At the world-creation screen, find the World Seed field.
- Enter the desired text or numeric code exactly. Preserve spaces, punctuation, leading zeroes, and capitalization when the platform or version requires them.
- Choose the world size, difficulty, and evil biome as you normally would.
- Generate the world. The secret-seed rules are applied during this process; changing the seed on an existing save will not rebuild it.
On supported Desktop versions beginning with 1.4.5.4, the Secret Seed button or menu can toggle previously unlocked seeds. This is useful when you want to combine unlocked effects or avoid retyping long entries. The menu is a Desktop 1.4.5.4 feature; do not assume that the same control exists on every console or mobile build.

What to record when sharing a seed
- Platform: PC, console, mobile, or another edition.
- Exact game version, including a hotfix number when available.
- World size, difficulty, and evil biome.
- The exact seed text or number, including capitalization and leading zeroes.
- Whether the seed was entered manually or assembled with the Secret Seed menu.
Two players should not expect identical behavior from the same text if their platform or game version differs. Newer seeds, aliases, and menu options may not exist in an older build, while a hotfix can change generation or parity.
Secret-seed codes and what they do
The Official Terraria Wiki maintains the canonical, current list of secret-seed codes. That list matters because accepted spelling, capitalization, aliases, and platform support can change. The entries below identify the major families and the commonly used entry text or number; copy the current canonical form rather than relying on a remembered community list.

The table is a guide to the families, not a replacement for the live canonical list. The exact form of several text seeds is deliberately version-sensitive. If Terraria rejects an entry, verify it against the current Official Terraria Wiki list for your platform before concluding that the seed was removed.
Choosing a seed by the kind of run you want
For a strange but recognizable world
Drunk World is the clearest starting point. The numeric entry 5162020 is associated with unusual generation and mixed-world behavior, so it changes the feel of exploration without being defined solely as an endurance test. It is a good choice when the goal is to discover unexpected layouts and interactions.

For a pure difficulty test
For the Worthy raises the baseline danger of a run and changes hazards and progression. It is not simply a cosmetic filter: ordinary combat, traversal, and resource decisions can become more punishing. Treat it as a challenge preset and plan to use equipment, arena design, and preparation that might be optional in a normal world.
For a themed exploration run
Celebrationmk10, commonly entered as 05162021, uses anniversary-themed generation and loot changes. Not the Bees focuses the world around bee and jungle rules. These seeds are best when the theme itself is the point, rather than when you want the most efficient route through standard progression.
For a changed progression route
Don’t Dig Up, also called Remix, changes the normal surface-to-Underworld emphasis. Expect your assumptions about where to begin, what to explore first, and which resources are safely accessible to be unreliable. Learn the altered route in a disposable world before committing a long-term character to it.
For survival pressure
The Constant introduces mechanics inspired by Don’t Starve. The important distinction is that danger is not limited to enemy statistics: environmental and survival management become part of the run. Players who dislike managing additional pressure should choose a different seed even if they are comfortable with ordinary Terraria combat.

For the hardest combined experience
Get fixed boi is associated with a severe combination of secret-seed effects. It is intended as an “everything” challenge, not as a gentle introduction to secret worlds. A group should agree on the rules before starting, keep backups of characters where appropriate, and expect interactions that are more difficult to predict than those of a single seed.
Can Terraria secret seeds be combined?
Yes. You can combine multiple valid codes by entering them together where the game accepts the syntax, or by toggling unlocked entries through the Secret Seed menu on supported Desktop 1.4.5.4-and-newer versions. Combination behavior is version-dependent, so a pair that works in one build may behave differently in another.

Why combinations are unpredictable
- Two effects may target the same generation rule and one may override the other.
- Rules that are harmless alone can compound into a much harder early game.
- A seed available on Desktop may not be recognized on a console or mobile build.
- Aliases can resolve differently after a game update.
- Generation changes can affect structures, biomes, traps, liquids, spawns, or visual presentation at the same time.
Think of a combination as an experiment, not a guaranteed recipe. Start with a throwaway world, make a small test character, and verify the features you care about before creating a serious multiplayer or long-term world.
A safe combination workflow
- Write down each intended seed and the exact game version in which you plan to use it.
- Create a small test world on the same platform and build branch as the real run.
- Check the spawn area, surface, first underground layer, expected structures, and any signature mechanic.
- Test the first few progression steps rather than only inspecting the starting screen.
- If an effect is missing or another rule dominates, try the seeds separately to identify the conflict.
- Only then generate the permanent world and share the complete seed string with other players.
What changed in Terraria 1.4.5
Terraria 1.4.5 launched on January 27, 2026, across PC, console, and mobile, except for the bespoke China Mobile edition. This broad release makes secret-seed parity better than it was when features were confined to individual platforms, but “available on the 1.4.5 release” does not guarantee that every hotfix has identical generation behavior.
Desktop 1.4.5.4 added the Secret Seed menu for toggling unlocked seeds. That menu is the most visible workflow change: once a seed has been unlocked, you can select it instead of manually entering its code every time. It does not remove the need to choose a new world, and it does not make an unsupported seed work on another platform.
The current 1.4.5-era list also contains many smaller modifier seeds. They can alter visuals, biomes, liquids, spawn behavior, traps, or structures without creating one of the large named presets. Because this list is expanding and version-sensitive, use the live canonical list for exact codes and descriptions rather than an old community compilation.

Check the spelling and capitalization
Re-enter the code manually or paste it again without surrounding spaces. Check apostrophes, spaces, punctuation, capitalization, and leading zeroes. The Celebrationmk10 number is a common example where dropping the initial zero changes the entry.

Confirm the platform and version
Write down whether you are on PC, console, or mobile and compare the full version number. A code introduced after your build will not necessarily be recognized, and a later hotfix may alter the resulting world. The China Mobile edition is a separate exception to the general 1.4.5 rollout.

Use a newly created world
Secret seeds are applied during generation. Loading an existing world, changing its displayed seed, or expecting a regenerated spawn will not apply the rules. Create a fresh test world after correcting the entry.
Separate a combination
If a multi-seed entry appears ineffective, test each seed alone. One effect may be overriding another, or the combined syntax may not be supported by your build. The Secret Seed menu on supported Desktop 1.4.5.4-and-newer versions can help you select unlocked effects without retyping them.
Verify the expected symptom
Some modifiers affect underground structures, spawn rules, liquids, or later progression rather than the first screen. A seed can be active even when the starting surface looks ordinary. Check the canonical description and explore the relevant area before declaring it broken.

- Using a remembered code from an old list: aliases and accepted forms can change, so check the current canonical list.
- Assuming a seed is a difficulty slider: many seeds alter generation, hazards, loot, or progression as well as enemy danger.
- Combining seeds in a valuable world first: conflicts can produce an unexpectedly hostile or inconvenient map.
- Sharing only the text: include platform, version, world settings, and whether menu toggles were used.
- Expecting cross-version identity: the same entry is not a promise of identical terrain across different builds.
- Confusing a secret seed with a normal random seed: a normal seed can reproduce a generated layout within matching conditions, while a secret seed also activates special rules.
Do secret seeds work on console and mobile?
Terraria 1.4.5 was released for PC, console, and mobile on January 27, 2026, apart from the bespoke China Mobile edition, so the major secret-seed families are part of the current cross-platform release direction. Exact availability still depends on the installed version and later hotfixes. The Desktop 1.4.5.4 Secret Seed menu should not be treated as a universal console or mobile interface feature.
On console or mobile, use the normal World Seed field, enter the canonical code exactly, and create a new world. If the game rejects a code or generates an ordinary-looking map, verify the platform-specific list and version before trying a different spelling.

Before you start a long-term secret-seed world
- Install the same Terraria version on every player’s device.
- Confirm that the chosen seed is listed for that platform.
- Agree on world size, difficulty, evil biome, and whether combinations are allowed.
- Create a test world and inspect the signature changes.
- Keep the exact seed string and version in the world name or a shared note.
- Only then create the permanent world and invite other players.
You need Terraria on your chosen platform to create a world and enter these seeds. No separate seed utility is required: the relevant controls are part of world creation, with the additional Secret Seed menu available on supported Desktop 1.4.5.4-and-newer builds.
