What changed in TFT patch 13.4?
The January 22, 2025 update combined gameplay balance changes with seasonal content announcements. Its patch numbering can be confusing: Riot said patch 13.4 was previously known as patch 15.2. The changes below describe that 2025 update; they are not recommendations for the current live game.
System changes
- Reforger drops: An NPC round after minions that drops two copies of the same component also drops a Reforger.
- Wandering Trainer: When an effect grants three Emblems, it now guarantees one Origin Emblem and one Class Emblem; the third is randomly either an Origin or a Class. Smaller Emblem grants remain random.
- Anomaly rolls: The system avoids offering the same Anomaly again too soon; Riot described the current interval as 12.
Trait changes
Riot removed the eight-piece Sorcerer and Visionary breakpoints and changed the effects at six pieces. The Experiment Emblem’s bonus clone health was reduced from 60% to 50%. These are patch-specific trait parameters, not a guide to which composition is strongest now.
Champion balance
The champion section includes changes to Lux, Morgana, Powder, Urgot, Vander, Scar, Garen, Twitch and Viktor, among others. Riot’s official notes provide the exact before-and-after values for each champion; consult that list rather than treating the names alone as a complete balance summary.

Augments and Radiant Items
The patch also changed multiple Augments and Radiant Items, alongside smaller updates to Augments, traits and champions. The values are specific to patch 13.4. Riot’s notes are the reference for the individual numerical changes.

- Cultivating Magic
- Cybernetic Empowerment
- Hivemind
- Infectious Anomaly
- Power Up
- Titan of Teamwork
- Vampiric Affinity
- Voracious Appetite
Each has a distinct effect; Riot lists its precise rules and values in the official notes.
Existing Anomalies adjusted
Arcana Overwhelming, Defense Expert, Repulsor, Titanic Strikes, Touch of Frost and Wolf Familiars also received changes. See Riot’s entries for their exact effects.
Events and cosmetics announced
The post announced Festival of Beasts Revival and Lunar Festival content, including a returning Lunar Festival Pass, Chibi characters and Little Legends. These are digital in-game content, not physical products. The patch announcement establishes what Riot announced in January 2025, not present-day event availability.

Bug fixes and platform note
Riot listed fixes involving Quicksilver, Viktor casts, Caitlyn headshots, Jayce crystals, executes and other interactions. The official patch post has the full wording and complete fix list.
The same post described a planned future move for macOS players from OpenGL to Metal, with a gradual rollout and a temporary option to revert. Riot warned that hardware incompatible with Metal would need updating after OpenGL support was removed. This was a 2025 transition announcement, not confirmation of current compatibility or requirements.
