These are the January 7, 2025 notes—not Riot’s separate patch 13.3 from 2023.
What changed in TFT patch 13.3?
Riot described the update as its first, relatively small patch of 2025. The team said it was broadly satisfied with the preceding weeks’ meta and wanted to support more viable compositions without making major balance swings. Riot also said larger changes and additional bug fixes were planned for the next patch. The official notes were published January 7, 2025, by Rodger “Riot Prism” Caudill: Riot’s TFT patch 13.3 notes.
Opening Encounter and carousel changes
- Opening Encounter: Its duration was shortened.
- Stage 3 carousel: It now always has one of each component unless the carousel contains Spatulas.
Trait balance changes
Artillerist
At the six-unit breakpoint, attacks per proc decreased from four to three.
Automata
Automata’s armor and magic resistance values changed from 25/60/140 to 25/55/100 across the listed breakpoints. Its base damage changed from 150/400/1100 to 150/400/1200.

Chem-Baron
The gold value of the 400 cashout decreased from 70 to 65, an 8% reduction according to Riot. The 500 cashout decreased from 105 to 90 gold, a 15% reduction.
Riot also reduced two Perfected items: Destabilized Chemtank’s health went from 999 to 700, and its armor and magic resistance went from 45 to 30. Executioner’s Chainblade’s attack damage went from 75% to 50%.
Augment text clarifications
- Find Your Center and Cloning Facility: Riot clarified their hex-positioning text.
- Birthday Present: Its text now clarifies that it can grant champions up to 5-cost.
Bug fixes
The patch fixed issues involving Wind-Up Monkey outcome typos, Scavenger incorrectly granting Radiant items, a Hard Commit emblem edge case, Vander Encounter rates, Unbound Warwick pedestal visual effects, and Chibi Akali’s noodle color.
