In June 2025, deal coverage reported the 42-inch LG C4 OLED at Amazon for $699.99, with another report listing $699 at Amazon and Best Buy. Those are historical prices, not confirmation of a current deal. The U.S. model, OLED42C4PUA, is a 2024 television with a manufacturer-listed 144Hz refresh rate and support for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium, so it can serve as a large PC gaming display if your hardware, desk and viewing distance suit it.
What was the Amazon deal?
HotHardware reported the 42-inch C4 at $699 at Amazon and Best Buy in 2025. Yahoo Tech reported an Amazon price of $699.99 as of June 17, 2025, and described it as a record low. These reports establish what outlets said about that dated promotion; they do not establish today’s price or provide a complete price history with which to independently verify an all-time low.

LG’s product page, retrieved in 2026, displayed $1,499.99 for the OLED42C4PUA. That is a changeable manufacturer-page price, not evidence of Amazon’s current offer. Check the live listing for price, stock, seller and exact model before deciding whether to buy.

Can you use the 42-inch LG C4 as a gaming monitor?
Yes. The OLED42C4PUA is a TV rather than a dedicated monitor, but LG advertises it for gaming with a 144Hz refresh rate, NVIDIA G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium and a 0.1ms response time. Independent monitor coverage is available in RTINGS’ LG C4 42 OLED review.

A 42-inch screen is much larger than a typical desktop monitor. Whether it is comfortable depends on your desk depth, viewing distance and preference; it is most compelling if you have room to sit farther back or want a display that can also serve as a TV. Consider how much of the screen you can comfortably see at once before choosing it for close desk use.
What does 144Hz mean for PC and console gaming?
LG lists 144Hz as a supported refresh rate, but that does not mean every game or connected device will run at 144 frames per second. The display’s refresh capability, the signal your PC or console can output, and the frame rate the game and hardware can render are separate constraints. LG’s product material notes that 144Hz operation depends on games or PC inputs that support it.

Before buying for a high-refresh setup, check your GPU, connection and game settings. Make sure the particular system and game can deliver the resolution and refresh rate you want; a 144Hz panel cannot create frames that the system does not render.

- Model: Confirm the U.S. 42-inch variant is OLED42C4PUA, not another C4 size or model.
