The Alters’ achievement list mixes story progress with Alter storylines and lessons, base-building, production, exploration, and ending-related goals. Before you plan a 100% run, check which platform and content scope you mean: Steam currently displays 63 achievements, while a third-party Xbox catalog reports 62 achievements worth 1,210 Gamerscore. Those are separate platform counts, not a universal total. This guide covers the publicly displayed Steam list and flags where its unlock conditions are not shown.
Which Alters list does this guide cover?
The Alters is a sci-fi survival game from 11 bit studios in which Jan Dolski creates alternate versions of himself, called Alters, after a crash-landed expedition. Its official store description includes exploration, base management, resource gathering, character needs, moral choices, branching storylines, and multiple outcomes. Steam Support gives the release date as June 13, 2025, and lists Steam Achievements support. Steam’s The Alters page and Steam Support’s game listing identify the PC/Steam version; PlayStation’s product page identifies a PS5 edition.

The detailed list below is the 63-entry catalog publicly displayed on Steam, checked October 8, 2026. The Xbox total is reported separately by XboxAchievements.com’s catalog search-result text: 62 achievements worth 1,210 Gamerscore, also checked October 8, 2026. The available evidence does not explain the difference or establish that the two catalogs cover identical content. PlayStation trophy grades and a definitive PlayStation total were not confirmed.
Content scope matters, too. Steam includes The reason I stayed, whose visible condition is to finish the Last Variable DLC. PlayStation lists The Alters: Last Variable as an add-on. So a base-game-only checklist is not the same as every entry shown in the Steam catalog. Steam’s achievement catalog and PlayStation’s Last Variable add-on page show those platform-specific details.

What kinds of achievements should you expect?
The visible Steam conditions point to several overlapping task families. They are useful for planning, but they do not establish which objectives can be combined in one route or whether any are missable.
- Story progress: reach the base, finish the Prologue and Acts 1–3, and find the rebel base.
- Alter stories and lessons: finish named Alters’ storylines, learn their named lessons, complete all Scientist Alters’ storylines, and learn all lessons.
- Base and construction: expand the base, build bridges and modules, and reach maximum capacity.
- Production and resources: use the Refinery and start production of Phased Rapidium, Proxylium, and Megafluid.
- Exploration and interactions: walk into anomalies, pet the sheep, and place a Terraformer.
- Endings and choices: some visible titles imply distinct outcomes, but the public Steam display does not show their conditions. Treat those conditions as unknown until verified in-game or in a reliable walkthrough.

This table reproduces Steam’s visible descriptions. “No condition shown” means the public page does not display an unlock description; it is not a clue to the actual requirement. Do not infer a route or ending from an achievement title alone.

Track storylines and lessons separately
Storyline completion and lesson completion are distinct visible objectives. The list names individual storyline achievements for the Technician, Botanist, Doctor, Miner, Scientist, Refiner, Worker, Shrink, and Guard; it also names lessons for several Alters. It additionally requires all Scientist Alters’ storylines and all lessons. Keep a checklist by Alter and by objective rather than assuming that finishing one story automatically unlocks its lesson.

Keep a systems checklist alongside story progress
Mark off base expansion, module construction, Rapidium Arks, the Refinery, Terraformer placement, and the three named production starts as you encounter them. Some descriptions give explicit thresholds or milestones, such as walking into an anomaly 20 times or building the second through fifth Rapidium Arks. The list does not give additional setup details for these objectives.
Verify hidden conditions before committing to a route
Steam displays no unlock condition for several entries, including Corporate Plug, Bold Science, Reunited, The Corporate Way, Maxwell’s Path, Awareness, I deserved this more, The things we do for love, and Wait, you can do that?. These cannot be turned into reliable step-by-step instructions from their titles alone. Check the in-game achievement tracker or a detailed, platform-matched walkthrough before taking a choice you cannot easily revisit.

Are any Alters storylines missable, or are achievements bugged?
The available evidence does not establish a definitive missable list or a guaranteed bug list. A community roadmap snippet reports that its author encountered an issue with Jan Complete, but that single playthrough report does not confirm a current, widespread bug or its cause. Likewise, the fact that a title involves a route or ending is not proof that it can be permanently missed. If completion matters, maintain separate notes for storylines, lessons, and hidden-condition entries, and verify route-sensitive choices with a current walkthrough for your platform and DLC scope.
