The studios have not announced when production will resume, and it is not yet clear whether the pause will affect the film’s scheduled February 18, 2028 theatrical release.
Why has filming on The Batman Part II paused?
Warner Bros. and DC Studios said production was pausing because Reeves was stepping away for personal reasons, describing the situation as a family matter. The studios expressed support for him and said they looked forward to continuing the project soon. They have not disclosed further details, and there is no basis for speculation about his family situation. TheWrap’s report of the studio statement and its reproduced wording characterize the pause as temporary.

Has filming stopped completely?
No. The studios described the production halt as a pause, not a cancellation. Filming had been underway in London before the announcement; the film began shooting there in June 2026, following earlier delays, according to the reported update and coverage of the production.
When will filming resume?
No restart date has been announced in the cited coverage. The studio said it looked forward to continuing the project soon, but that wording does not establish a specific return date or production schedule.
