2024 is over, so these games are no longer upcoming. For a retrospective of PS4 releases that were anticipated that year, four confirmed options span action-platforming, classic-adventure remasters, strategy RPGs and a late-year RPG. This is a curated selection for genre variety, not a quality ranking: the available release-calendar and announcement sources confirm platforms and dates, but do not establish a comparative verdict.
Four PS4 games from the 2024 release calendar
GameSpot’s 2024 release schedule, published December 17, 2024, provides a retrospective cross-platform calendar. The table highlights four entries it lists for PS4; its dates should be read as calendar dates, not proof that every region received a game on the same day.

What makes these picks useful to different players?
For action-platforming: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
GameSpot’s calendar lists the game for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, with a January 18, 2024 release date. It is the clearest pick here for someone seeking an action-platformer rather than a role-playing game. The calendar does not provide a review-based quality comparison, so this is a genre fit, not a claim that it is the year’s best-reviewed PS4 release.
For returning to classic adventures: Tomb Raider I-III Remastered
The collection brings the first three Tomb Raider games under a remastered release and was listed for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC on February 14, 2024. Choose it for a return to older entries in the series, rather than a new mainline installment. The cited calendar identifies it as a remaster but does not specify edition formats.

For tactical party-building: Unicorn Overlord
PlayStation Blog Japan’s monthly highlights, published March 6, 2024, identifies Unicorn Overlord as a simulation RPG for PS5 and PS4 and gives March 8 as its planned Japanese release date. Its guide emphasizes exploring, building a party and composing units, alongside online elements. The date is explicitly Japanese and planned in that regional guide; it should not be generalized into a universal release-date statement. For a late-year RPG: Fantasian Neo Dimension
GameSpot lists Fantasian Neo Dimension for PS4 and PS5 on December 5, 2024. It adds a late-year RPG option to a selection otherwise weighted toward action-platforming, a remaster and simulation strategy. The cited calendar does not give further detail about play style or the release format.

How to read a 2024 PS4 list accurately
Platform filtering matters: a game announced by PlayStation is not automatically a PS4 game. In its May 30, 2024 State of Play roundup, PlayStation Blog said Concord was launching on PS5 and PC and described Monster Hunter Wilds as coming to PS5 in 2025. Neither belongs on a list of 2024 PS4 releases. The State of Play recap is a useful reminder to check the specific platform rather than infer PS4 support from a PlayStation announcement.
This is a selection, not an exhaustive global release calendar. GameSpot’s schedule contains additional PS4 entries, but release dates and platform availability can vary by region or change after a calendar is published. For a particular game, confirm its final regional release details and platform on the publisher or platform holder’s official page.
