For a PC that meets the recommended requirements, start with 1920×1080, High graphics quality, and upscaling enabled. KOEI TECMO says this setup is expected to deliver 60 fps. Near the minimum requirements, start with 1920×1080, Low graphics quality, and upscaling enabled; the publisher’s stated target for that tier is 30 fps. These are official expectations, not guarantees for every PC or scene.
Choose Normal or Classic gameplay settings separately: they change the added gameplay features, not the graphics preset. If you play above 1080p or on an ultrawide display, treat the recommended 1080p setup as a baseline and adjust to your own performance.

Start with the PC tier that matches your hardware
KOEI TECMO’s Steam system requirements give two starting points for performance. The targets below are for 1920×1080 with upscaling enabled. The publisher does not promise the same frame rate at other resolutions.
| PC tier | Processor | Memory | Graphics card | Starting graphics settings and target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X | 16 GB RAM | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB, or Intel Arc A380 6 GB | 1920×1080, Low, upscaling enabled; 30 fps expected |
| Recommended | Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | 16 GB RAM | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB | 1920×1080, High, upscaling enabled; 60 fps expected |
Both tiers specify Windows 11 64-bit, DirectX 12, and 60 GB of storage. These are the publisher’s listed requirements for the PC version; meeting a tier should be treated as a useful starting point rather than a guarantee of identical performance on every configuration.

Read the tiers as complete configurations, not as graphics-card shopping lists. The minimum and recommended rows pair a processor, 16 GB of memory, and one of the listed GPUs with a specific 1080p quality-and-frame-rate expectation. A PC with a different combination of parts does not automatically match either tier just because one component looks similar. The official specifications do not provide a part-by-part formula for estimating performance on every possible build.
The minimum tier is the appropriate point of comparison if your system is close to an i7-8700 or Ryzen 7 2700X processor and one of the listed 6 GB cards. Its expected configuration is Low quality at 1080p with upscaling enabled, targeting 30 fps. The recommended tier pairs an i7-10700K or Ryzen 7 3700X with an RTX 3060 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB and targets 60 fps at High quality. The difference between those targets matters: the minimum specification does not promise 60 fps.
Do not treat 60 GB of storage as an estimate or substitute it with a smaller figure. That is the official listed requirement. Likewise, the listed operating system is Windows 11 64-bit and the required graphics API is DirectX 12. If you are checking whether a PC qualifies, compare those details alongside processor, RAM, and graphics hardware.

- Choose the resolution. Begin at 1920×1080 if you want to use one of the publisher’s stated performance targets.
- Set graphics quality for your hardware tier. Use High on a PC near the recommended tier or Low near the minimum tier.
- Enable upscaling. Both official performance targets assume upscaling is on. Steam lists multiple upscaling features, but the available specifications do not name a preferred option or quantify how much performance any one option adds.
- Play and assess your own system. If performance or frame pacing is unsatisfactory, lower resolution or graphics quality incrementally, then reassess. No per-option performance table is available to predict a precise gain from a particular change.
This approach keeps the adjustable factors simple: resolution, graphics quality, and upscaling. It also avoids assuming that a supported display mode will perform like the 1080p configuration used for the publisher’s targets.
Make the first test with one of the official combinations intact. If you have recommended-tier hardware, begin at 1080p High with upscaling on; if you are near minimum, begin at 1080p Low with upscaling on. This establishes whether the baseline works on your own configuration before you experiment with higher resolutions or other quality settings. It also gives you a useful reference point if you later need to trade image quality for smoother performance.
When tuning, change one broad setting at a time where possible. If you change resolution and graphics quality together, you may improve performance, but you will not know which adjustment mattered. Try a lower resolution or lower quality, then check the result; if it is still not satisfactory, make another adjustment. This is a practical way to use the options the publisher identifies without pretending to know an exact performance gain for each step.
Upscaling belongs in the initial setup because the publisher’s two targets explicitly assume it is enabled. That does not mean every upscaling option is interchangeable or that a particular option will deliver a known number of extra frames. Steam lists multiple upscaling features, but the system requirements do not identify a preferred mode, specify an optimal setting for each GPU, or publish a performance table comparing them. If the game offers a choice of upscaling methods, treat the official recommendation as “upscaling enabled” and assess the available choices on your own PC.

- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.

Keep graphics quality distinct from gameplay-feature choices. A switch from Normal to Classic is not the same kind of change as switching from High to Low, and it should not be used as a graphics troubleshooting step. Decide first how you want the game to play, then tune resolution and image quality for your hardware.
For 1440p, 4K, or ultrawide, do not assume the 1080p target carries over
Steam lists support, depending on hardware, for 4K Ultra-HD, ultrawide displays, multiple upscaling features, and HDR. Those are supported features, not separate performance promises. KOEI TECMO warns that displays above Full HD or widescreen displays may need additional VRAM depending on settings.
The published requirements do not provide distinct frame-rate targets for 1440p, 4K, or ultrawide resolutions. If a higher-resolution or wider display produces poor performance or uneven frame pacing, reduce resolution or graphics quality in small steps and check the result before deciding that new hardware is necessary. The evidence does not establish a model-by-model GPU recommendation for those modes.
That distinction is important if you are comparing a 1080p monitor with a 1440p or 4K screen. The 60 fps figure is tied to 1920×1080, High, and upscaling enabled on the recommended hardware tier; it is not a general claim for every resolution that the store lists as supported. The 30 fps expectation is likewise specific to 1920×1080, Low, and upscaling enabled on minimum-tier hardware. Neither target can be carried across to a different resolution as though the publisher had supplied a matching figure.

Ultrawide support also does not mean that every widescreen configuration has a published target. KOEI TECMO’s warning is that displays above Full HD or widescreen displays may need additional VRAM, depending on settings. Compare the memory on your graphics card with the listed 6 GB minimum-tier cards and 8 GB or 12 GB recommended-tier cards, but do not read those figures as a precise VRAM requirement for a specific ultrawide resolution. The official listing does not give one.
If you encounter uneven pacing at a higher resolution, use resolution and graphics quality as the first broad adjustments. Lower one incrementally, play again, and see whether the result improves. If it does not, continue adjusting and reassessing rather than making a hardware purchase based on the 1080p requirements alone. The available specifications do not prove that a particular GPU will provide a particular frame rate at 1440p or 4K.
HDR is also a listed feature, not an FPS claim. Its presence on the Steam feature list does not say how it affects performance or whether it is the right choice for every display. If your priority is performance, begin with the named 1080p target and make changes based on what you see on your own system, rather than assuming support for HDR, 4K, and ultrawide all share one universal quality preset.

Normal and Classic are gameplay choices, not graphics presets
Normal Settings is KOEI TECMO’s recommended remastered gameplay configuration. Classic Settings applies choices about the added gameplay features in bulk to create an experience closer to the original games. Neither preset is described by the publisher as a graphics-quality setting, so changing between them is not a substitute for adjusting resolution or image quality.
If you want a middle ground, use Normal Settings and toggle individual additions according to preference. The launch announcement identifies Evasion and Perfect Power Guard among the additions and says newly added features can be individually enabled or disabled. Pick the gameplay setup for how you want the game to feel; tune graphics separately for performance.
The practical choice is preference rather than hardware. Choose Normal if you want KOEI TECMO’s recommended remastered gameplay setup. Choose Classic if you want the added gameplay features applied in bulk toward an experience closer to the original games. If neither bundle fits your preference, start with Normal and adjust individual additions. The announcement says the new features can be toggled on and off individually, so the choice is not limited to two all-or-nothing options.
For example, you can keep the Normal gameplay setup and decide whether you want additions such as Evasion or Perfect Power Guard enabled. The supplied official wording says all newly added features can be individually toggled; it does not provide a performance benefit or penalty for enabling any particular feature. Treat these as gameplay decisions, not as a way to raise frame rate.
KOEI TECMO Europe described the intent this way: “All newly added features can be individually toggled on and off, giving fans full control over their DYNASTY WARRIORS experience.” The statement is about control over the gameplay experience. It does not describe separate image-quality profiles or claim that Classic Settings is less demanding than Normal Settings.

What one independent PC report can—and cannot—tell you
TechRadar Hardware Editor Rhys Wood reported playing 15 hours on PC through Steam with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060, using maximum settings “with zero hitches or issues.” That is a useful example of one reviewer’s experience on one system. It is not a representative benchmark across graphics cards, resolutions, or game scenes, and it does not establish that maximum settings will be smooth on other PCs.
The publisher’s stated 1080p targets remain the clearest figures for choosing a starting configuration. They are expected results rather than independent measurements across multiple GPUs; no representative multi-GPU benchmark study or per-option graphics performance table is available in the cited material.

Use the TechRadar report as a single real-world example, not as a replacement for the requirements table. Wood’s 15 hours on an RTX 5060 at maximum settings indicate that one reviewer had a smooth experience on that system. They do not tell you what frame rate to expect from an RTX 5060 in every scene, how the same settings behave at a different resolution, or how another graphics card will perform. The report does not establish that every PC should use maximum settings.
For a recommendation you can actually apply, begin with the publisher’s tier that most closely matches your PC, then test locally. If you are aiming for 60 fps, the clearest official starting point is recommended hardware at 1080p High with upscaling enabled. If your PC is near minimum, the published starting point is 1080p Low with upscaling enabled and an expected 30 fps. Neither figure is a guarantee, and neither is a broad benchmark result.
How to interpret these recommendations
- At or near recommended hardware: Begin with the High, 1080p, upscaling-on configuration in the table.
- At or near minimum hardware: Begin with Low at 1080p and upscaling on; the listed expectation is 30 fps, not 60 fps.
- Above 1080p or on ultrawide: Expect to assess performance locally. Higher resolutions and widescreen use may require more VRAM, and no corresponding frame-rate target is stated.
- If the experience is unsatisfactory: Reduce resolution or graphics quality incrementally, then check performance and frame pacing again.
- If the image looks right but the gameplay changes do not: Review Normal, Classic, and individual feature toggles independently of graphics quality.
When comparing possible settings, keep five separate questions in view: What resolution and aspect ratio are you using? What frame-rate target are you trying to reach? What graphics quality does your hardware tier point to? Is upscaling enabled? How much VRAM does your graphics card have? Those are the axes the official specifications support. Gameplay preference—Normal, Classic, or individually toggled features—is a separate decision.
There is no basis here for buying a particular GPU just to reach a specific 1440p, 4K, or ultrawide target. The official requirements name example cards for the minimum and recommended 1080p tiers, but they do not offer a model-by-model buying guide. If you already own a system below or between those tiers, use the recommended settings as a baseline and judge the result rather than treating a listed card as the only possible way to play.
KOEI TECMO America’s Steam PC requirements were accessed on 13 October 2026. The publisher’s page lists internally verified GPUs as of August 2026; that list is not a complete benchmark database. Performance expectations, drivers, patches, and store details can change, so the listed settings are best used as a starting point rather than a universal guarantee.

Graphics are only one part of a comfortable PC setup. Steam says the PC version supports multiple controller types and also offers fully customizable mouse-and-keyboard controls. That gives you a choice between playing with a controller or configuring keyboard and mouse to suit your preference. The store information does not verify a particular controller model, so check compatibility for your own device rather than assuming that every model is supported.
Controller support is optional, not a requirement for using the recommended graphics settings. A controller will not change the 1080p High or Low performance targets, and the available information does not link a control scheme to frame rate. If you prefer keyboard and mouse, the controls are customizable; if you prefer a controller, Steam lists support for multiple types. Choose based on how you want to play rather than as a graphics fix.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best settings for 60 fps in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered on PC?
KOEI TECMO’s recommended starting point is 1920×1080, High graphics quality, and upscaling enabled on a PC near the recommended tier: Windows 11 64-bit, an Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB. The publisher says that setup is expected to provide 60 fps, not guaranteed to do so in every scene or configuration.
What settings should I use on a PC near the minimum requirements?
Start at 1920×1080, Low graphics quality, and upscaling enabled. The minimum tier lists an Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, 16 GB RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB, or Intel Arc A380 6 GB. KOEI TECMO’s stated expectation for that setup is 30 fps, not 60 fps.
Recommended Free Tools
Can I expect the same frame rate at 1440p or 4K?
No separate 1440p or 4K frame-rate targets are listed. Steam lists 4K Ultra-HD support depending on hardware, but the publisher’s 30 and 60 fps expectations are specifically for 1920×1080. Treat higher resolutions as supported options, not as proof that the 1080p targets carry over.
Does ultrawide support mean my graphics card has enough VRAM?
Not necessarily. KOEI TECMO warns that displays above Full HD or widescreen displays may need additional VRAM depending on settings. The official listing does not give a specific VRAM target or frame rate for each ultrawide resolution, so assess performance locally and lower resolution or graphics quality if needed.
Should I use Normal Settings or Classic Settings for better graphics performance?
Neither is identified as a graphics preset. Normal Settings is KOEI TECMO’s recommended remastered gameplay configuration. Classic Settings applies added gameplay-feature choices in bulk to create an experience closer to the original games. Choose between them for gameplay preference, and adjust graphics quality and resolution separately.
What does upscaling do for the official PC targets?
The publisher’s 30 fps minimum-tier and 60 fps recommended-tier expectations both assume upscaling is enabled. Steam lists multiple upscaling features, but the system requirements do not identify a preferred option or quantify the performance gain from any specific method. Use the available upscaling options as a starting point and assess them on your own system.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Can one reviewer’s maximum-settings report tell me how my PC will perform?
No. TechRadar Hardware Editor Rhys Wood reported 15 hours of PC play on an RTX 5060 at maximum settings without hitches or issues. That is one reviewer’s experience on one system, not a multi-GPU benchmark or a guarantee for other PCs, resolutions, or scenes.
Do I need a controller to play the PC version?
No particular control scheme is required by the graphics recommendations. Steam says the PC version supports multiple controller types and offers fully customizable mouse-and-keyboard controls. The listing does not verify a particular controller model, so check a device’s compatibility rather than assuming a specific model will work.
The Bottom Line
Best starting point: recommended-tier PC at 1920×1080, High, with upscaling enabled for KOEI TECMO’s expected 60 fps; minimum-tier PC at 1920×1080, Low, with upscaling enabled for its expected 30 fps. Those targets do not extend automatically to 1440p, 4K, or ultrawide. Set Normal, Classic, or individual gameplay toggles to taste, then tune resolution and graphics quality separately if your own performance or frame pacing needs adjustment.
